The RP-504C II is a large center channel that stands out for clear, easy to understand vocals and a more neutral Klipsch RP sound than the older bright R series. The cabinet is massive enough to require careful measuring, and placement can be tricky if the TV sits too high. Pricing has landed around $300 to $400 in past sales, so $450 feels steep to some. It remains a strong match for home theater dialogue if the size and price work in your setup.
Home theater owners needing a center for clear dialogue, because the speaker is repeatedly described as very good for vocals and clarity.
Shoppers comfortable paying around $450 for a center channel, because owners say the price is acceptable when they need one now and do not want to wait for a small extra discount.
People with shallow TV stands or tight front-wall space, because the cabinet is massive and can force the TV too high or fail to fit through a doorway.
$450 is considered a decent buy, but several comments place the better historical prices around $300-$400. Reported lows include $299.99-$300 for color-specific sales and about $400 for recent purchases, with Black Friday or future sales possibly dropping it another $50.
If you can wait, a lower price may be possible: past sales hit about $300, and one comment expects Black Friday could land roughly $50 below this deal. If you need a center now, $450 is still viewed as acceptable by buyers who wanted the speaker immediately.
Yes, it is very large and heavy for a center channel, described as a "park bench" and a "large frame" speaker. Measure your front door, TV stand, and placement height carefully before buying, because it can dominate the setup and may force the TV too high.
It is reported to be very strong for clear vocals and dialogue, with multiple owners calling the center "VERY good" and saying vocals are great. The RP series is also described as having a more neutral, wide-appealing sound than older bright Klipsch lines, which helps center-channel clarity.
Yes, Amazon listings mentioned free returns, and the Adorama purchase was also treated as low-risk by buyers because of return options. That makes it easier to test fit and bulk before committing, which matters because the speaker is unusually large.
Yes I purchased last year @ $299.99 If I'm not mistaken, it was only for the walnut color (which I got). This thing is a beast and @ $300, cannot be beat! At $450, I'd consider waiting
I was able to get Ebony color for $300 too last Feb but yeah they were rotating the sale price for each color for the whole month of Feb if I remember because I was needing Ebony. One week walnut was on sale then the next week Ebony. These speakers definitely help with amplifying and providing clarity of the voices. Adorama also had RP-600M 2 speakers on sale for $300 and the onkyo tx-sr3100 receiver for $200 around the same time as well. Purchased all of this and have a great budget home theater system. It was a nice housewarming gift for myself. Just need a sub now and looking into RSL.
I'm looking for a good center channel and currently leaning towards the SVS ultra. Does anyone have an opinion to share? If this drops down to $300, it seems possibly worth it but 2.5 vs 3 way and the size difference is wild.

Well two very different sounds. With many unknowns this would be easier to drive & less expensive.Whether the Ultra performance is worth the extra cost is personal choice.Imo the Ultra is a very good center, the whole Revolution series is very impressive ime.

Best thing about SVS is the free return shipping, and the Prime center when on sale for $300-400 isn't bad. The Ultra center is ok but at its $800 price point you can do better, e.g. KEF Q6.
Right now the best center bargain is the 3-way Emotiva XC1 at $229.
But of course the SVS salesman will always talk down all non SVS products, ROTFL

I had this center and it's VERY good. Despite mixed opinions on Klipsch sound signature and personal preferences...they undoubtedly sound good for clear vocals.
This is a great price for someone who needs a center, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it $50 lower Black Friday for those who can wait.
Klipsch RP is relatively neutral and not so polarizing unlike the Klipsch R series which are the series with the harsh aggressive treble.
Thank you both for the input! Why would anyone purchase this Klipsch over the Emotiva center? Seems like a no brainer to go XC1 over this...
The usual reasons:
If WAF precludes a simple black box.
If they have been brainwashed by the "brand matching equals timbre matching equals life or death importance" audiophool dogma.
If they have been brainwashed by the standard salesman's "you always get what you pay for" lie and assume that products that are overpriced are automatically "better"
