Wont even let you pick a store to order from if the store is closed to see if the coupons work.

We used to go there often when they had deals for 2 subs. Most of their coupon codes stopped working couple months ago or so and we stopped going altogether!
I have faced the same issue! And their app keeps glitching and crashing. It's become so annoying.

When I try going to store to pickup they don't apply the coupon code and say you need to bring physical QR codes if you want to redeem the offers in-store.

The only thing on the mailers I receive in my area are the QR code.

at $7 for a footlong, the subway store doesn't even make a profit. there's a reason why a lot of subway stores opt out of these promos. relevant video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDdYFhzVCDMyou can argue whether or not Subway should even exist if it can't make a profit at $7, but fact is, the store loses money.
Nothing in that video covered the variable or fixed cost per unit of a Subway sandwich, nor did it cover coupons. I keep hearing that these coupons make the store lose money but until I see a Bill of Material for a footlong I don't believe on a variable cost basis that they are losing money. I assume some franchises are losing money maybe on a fully loaded cost per unit basis if they are low volume to begin with but coupons boost volume considerably and spread those fixed costs like rent out even more per unit.

I did this at my local Subway in Waterford, MI and got 2 sandwiches with just enough meat to say it wasn't vegan... these were not regular sandwiches. Subway has lost a customer. I was looking for a deal and found myself with sandwiches that were truly lacking.

The deal worked out great for me, got the 2 sandwiches from 22 to 14 dollars, and all you have to do is follow the directions.

That's how the owners retaliate against the coupons. I stopped going because they kept doing this. Even when I paid extra for double meat they would only do a single layer.

It literally did cover coupons at 12:10. Covers revenue at 6:33, franchise fee 6:48. Exclusively looking at bill of materials is practically pointless. iPhone SE's BOM is $150 but that doesn't mean Apple is making anywhere close to 300% margins.
