Oh my...
I don't find the insulated water bottle pocket too helpful since it isn't huge. It won't fit larger reusable bottles, and the bottles that do fit are a tight fit. It would probably work well for non-insulated bottles, especially disposable ones. I wouldn't trust it to keep the bottles cold for too long. But it would help, and it would mitigate any sweating.
It also might work well to hold a small freezer block and a few snacks. Being an insulated pocket, it's waterproof. Meaning it's more work to clean and dry out if you do spill crumbs, jelly, etc in that pocket.
Overall I like the bag at a price like this. If you want a lightweight bag to keep around that's big enough to hold larger items like coats or shoes, but not as bulky as a full backpack, it works well. It also makes a nice bag for a specific use case that's ready to go, like leaving lap-swimming gear in it. And if you can lay it out flat or fold it neatly, it packs well into a suitcase to have a lightweight daypack available if needed.
