That's a pretty good deal but after my kids have yanked off the switch by snagging the cord before I have a "no wired controllers" policy.

yeah, costco seems to be getting out of the gaming business...all the games, accessories and cartriges were sold out with only the playstation gift cards still there but shoved in a corner behind stuff

I want to highlight this is a WIRED controller. Not great for young kids unless you want your switch pulled off the tv stand

I think depending on your location. In suburban areas like where I live, It's at the main center of the tech area.

Power A is good stuff. They honor their extended warranty and it's a quality controller for the price. A step below the official Nintendo stuff, but vastly better than most of the random controllers on Amazon.
That said, I have no idea why there are wired controllers for a Nintendo switch... Seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

Maybe try a magnetic usb connector, that way it just detaches the cable. I guess you can make something that hold the dock in place too to be extra safe. I'll pick this up if I'm Costco, because the included controller is uncomfortable for me. I'm going wait for their pro controller to go on sale, $90 is way to much for a controller

I am pretty sure you know this already, but just in the slight chance you don't, the Switch 2 is compatible with all switch 1 controllers. There are a lot of third party controllers that are surprisingly good quality and a lot of features for very little money, as low as $20 up to $50.

The cord is a separate piece and would hopefully disconnect from the controller first.

Yeah, you could use something like a magsafe like macs have, but to buy an adapter like that adds a fair amount of cost, honestly not sure if I even saw that adapter before. It could still be enough to jerk it even if it is magnetic. What we did was bought a longer usb extension cable so even if it did snag their foot there was a lot of slack, but then you had this huge 12 foot cable (extension + controller cable) to deal with.
Seems easier to just pay more for a wireless one in the first place, we bought a HORI one and it's our primary controller. It would be nice to get an official switch one someday.

Ah, that's a big "hopefully" but still better than ours which is wired in.

Happened to me the first day we had ours. I almost had a heart attack.

Now we is a horizontal dock stand and try to only bust out the corded controller when all 3 wireless controllers are in use
