Amazon Basics packing tape is a thick, sticky option that stands out for sealing boxes and holding up better than many name brands. It is described as strong, super sticky, and even better than Costco tape on both price and quality, with some calling it their go to packing tape. The main caution is fit and feel, since the roll can be too large for smaller dispensers and a bit stiffer for some uses. Tape age also matters, because old rolls can lose stickiness over time.
The tape can be thick and super sticky for packing and sealing boxes.
The packing tape can stick better than some fancier name-brand options.
The tape can be stiffer than average but still delivers good quality for restocking.
The tape can fit some tape guns, even if it may be too large for smaller Scotch dispensers.
The tape can lose stickiness over time, which can cause box bottoms to fail during moves.
The tape can tear very easily and feel thin compared with Duck and Scotch tape.
The listing may not state tape thickness, which makes it harder to judge strength for heavy-duty box sealing.
The roll size can be too big for a small Scotch dispenser, which may limit convenience.

Great deal, great price.
On July 15, 2025, the deal was was 12 count of 2" by 60 yards for $16.76 plus tax.
For me, that worked out to $1.47 per roll, and it was supposed to be 2.7 mil.
So that was 2.5 cents per yard.
I can't find the thickness of this, but at $10.70 for six rolls, that is $1.78 before tax for 109 yards or $2.20 per roll after tax and 2.0 cents per yard.
So my question is about the strength, as this offer does not state thickness.
I sometimes use "excessive" tape on boxes, so I guess I will buy this offer on its lower cost per yard.
