I've had this model running 24/7 for 6 years now and, unlike half of the several cheaper Winix models I've also used in that period, it's had zero mechanical issues and continues to perform perfectly. Love this purifier, totally been worth the additional money spent over the Winix cleaners.

Did anyone else think this was a deal for an iPod shuffle at first?

The Coway AP-1512HH is a compact True HEPA purifier that stands out for reliable long term performance, quiet everyday operation, and easy to find replacement filters. It has held up for years of continuous use, works well in living rooms and kitchens, and the same filter set is shared across Coway units like the Airmega 200. The main tradeoffs are ongoing filter costs, around $50 for a year pack, and some noise when it ramps up on high speed. It is a familiar, low fuss purifier with a proven track record.

  • The purifier can run 24/7 for years without mechanical issues while maintaining strong performance.

    Dah-Dee

  • The same filter sets can make ongoing bundle filter purchases easier and potentially cheaper across multiple units.

    SharpSquirrel178

  • The unit can resume automatically after a power outage, and it does not require WiFi for basic operation.

    vd853

  • The pre-filter mesh can be cleaned by soaking in dish detergent, which can help manage grime buildup.

    KidFresh

  • The purifier can get noisy when it ramps up to high speed.

    skrooks

  • The purifier may lack a child lock, which can be a problem around toddlers and cats.

    NervousVest111

  • The HEPA and charcoal filters can load with grime faster in a kitchen exhaust use case.

    KidFresh

  • The current price may not be the best value option compared with past sale pricing around $110.

I've ran mine for 10 years straight. For the last 5+ years, it has sat in my kitchen corner serving as a kitchen exhaust (not its manufactured-intended purpose). My HEPA and charcoal filters get grimey/greasy faster but cheap knock-off brands are easy to find. The pre-filter mesh screen gets soaked in dish detergent for routine cleaning. If, and when, mine fails, I will buy another one for my kitchen.

I have one of these in my living room. Works great. This is a nice deal. Will keep a lookout for the future, similar deals. Still have several winix new filters Will finish those first.

BTW, this(Coway) has been on the recommended list from wirecutter for a while.

When buying an air purifier, also consider the cost of filters. (Don't want to end up in a situation like printers where an ink refill costs more than the device.) The Coway filters tend to go for ~$50 for a filter pack meant to last 1 year.

I've been happy with this purifier, having 4 of them in my home. The only slight nit is that it can get a tad noisy when it decides to kick into high gear, which is to kind of be expected.

The 'clip' doesn't show up on my amazon. Is it still working for others?
