Similar to the sold out front page Redragon MPC745 deal the other day, but faster and cheaper. 7940HS about 3% to 5% faster than 8845HS in Redragon depending on task.
https://slickdeals.net/f/19590210-redragon-mpc745-mini-pc-amd-ryzen-7-8845hs-16gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-radeon-780m-395-free-shipping?src=SDSearchv3&attrsrc=Thread%3AExpired%3ATrue%7CSearch%3AType%3Anormal%7CSearch%3ASort%3Arecent%7CSearch%3AHideExpired%3Afalse&peid=0d66a2e0-4f00-4a2d-b623-8566b24effea

There is a choice here of either the AriesBox10 with the 7840HS (slightly slower by 5%) or the AriesBox20 with the 7940HS. Basically the cost difference in options shown for the CPU is $25. Also there is a choice between the 512GB SSD and a 1TB SSD. The cost difference is $40 between the drive choices. So you can get the cheapest configuration for $288 or the most expensive configuration at $351.

Same item on Amazon for $430
https://www.amazon.com/ADREAMER-A...B0DK332NV7

Last note for all these Aliexpress deals. The prices fluctuate by a couple bucks all the time due to currency value changes and a few other small adjustments. There may be a +/- 2 dollar spread when checking any of these deals.

This is a compact Zen 4 mini PC with an RDNA 3 780M iGPU, aimed at home, office, and light gaming. The hardware generally matches the listing, with 16GB DDR5 in a single SODIMM slot, an open memory slot for easy expansion, and an open NVMe bay. Performance and storage speed look solid, and adding a second RAM stick can improve results. The main caveats are the shaky Windows activation story, occasional setup hassles, and repeated fulfillment concerns, including wrong CPU variants, missing product keys, and even order cancellations.

  • The mini PC can deliver fast NVMe performance while matching the listed CPU and memory configuration.

  • The hardware configuration can check out with a Zen 4 CPU, RDNA 3 GPU, and a 16GB DDR5 stick.

  • The system supports dual-channel memory by adding a second SODIMM stick, which can improve 3DMark results.

  • The unit can include an open NVMe slot for expanding storage after purchase.

  • Windows setup can get stuck during PIN creation, requiring boot-disk and legacy key workarounds to proceed.

  • The Windows 11 product key can be missing or non-functioning, forcing manual workarounds or reliance on an existing license.

  • The listing and seller details can be inconsistent, including reports of receiving a different CPU model than ordered.

  • Windows activation can fail after wiping and reinstalling Windows 11, even when the hardware matches the listing.

Yah, mine did not have a functioning windows 11 key. I have a crap ton from my MSDN enterprise license from work so it doesn't matter to me. Working fine though on a fresh install which I was planning on. I'll probably take time this weekend to setup as the gaming box I intended for my kids on the big screen in the living room for them. Put some old school games with emulation and the such. I have a full license to LaunchBox i haven't used in awhile so I'll look into that as well. I'll probably do a thorough strip down as well as reapply any thermal paste/padding as I got a bunch of that laying around. Edit, I just checked and single sodimm of 16gb. So I can order another and be good.

To get around the Create PIN issue, I did the following:

1. Hold Alt-Tab to see if the create PIN tab is actually there, just hidden
2. Make it the focus tab by letting go of Alt-Tab onto the Create PIN tab.
3. The window is focused on but still hidden, so you'll have to fill it in without seeing it. You basically type in your desired PIN, press tab (to go to the next textbox) re-type your PIN and finally press ENTER to submit.

This is how I got around it without doing a clean install.

I still have the issue of no activation key for my Windows 11 but just living with it for now.

Mines finally showed up after being delayed. The hardware checks out. Zen 4 cpu/ rdna 3 gpu, 16gb ram stick. That's the most important part. Windows however as been a headache for me. Same activation issue as everyone else plus I had to follow a 12 step registry hack youtube video to finally be able sign into my Microsoft account.

Mine finally came was delayed in Amazon delivery forever. It came with 1 16 gb stick with one slot open so I tossed a spare stick to get some dual channel memory working. I then set the video card to 8gb of memory in the bios on the GPU to 8gb and it boosted my 3dmark score by more than 100%. It also has an open nvme drive slot so all in all not a bad little machine for the price.

After using this for a week, I wish I had bought another one (I got this to run charting software at work - want another one for home). I got the 7940Hs with 512GB SSD for $325 all-in. The only annoying thing is I can't enter BIOS with any combination of F-keys and/or ESC (have to do advance boot from windows but maybe it's due to using wireless keyboard). On the hunt for some laptop ram now...

I ordered. It arrived today. I unboxed, but hit wonky errors on initial setup. So I fully wiped the drive, reinstalled win 11, but would not activate. So take that as you will. Given some of these stories about budget Chinese machines, I feel safer having wiped/reinstalled, but it doesn't look like there's any easily activatable windows key once that's done. I had an extra I used, but beware.Otherwise, it's so far so good - nvme speed is fast, CPU and memory are as listed. If you can live with the potentially problematic Windows key, it's a pretty good deal.
How did you wipe the drive? I am trying to install Ubuntu server on it but it just hangs on install. Did you wipe it through the BIOS? That's the only pre-startup screen I can access
