Blue must have been way back because I've been buying these forever and they're all white.

Maybe I'm the crazy one, but little disappointed they changed the color from blue, or maybe I happened to buy blue years back. My luck, the kids or spouse won't realize it's rechargeable and will throw it away

Yeah, there were a couple shades of blue in certain store packs long ago, but I think they were usually white, and the white has remained all these years. I've never purchased anything except white standards and the black pros - my first Sanyo Eneloops in 2011 were white. I always used Sanyo back then, and even my very first NiMH battery in 2002 was some Sanyo. I want to say they were 1600mAh or something, in some turquoise wrapper - they reviewed extremely well, and worked great in my Fuji 2800Z camera.

They also had multi-color/"glitter" packs in 2011.

I stopped putting them in toys for this reason. So many rechargeable batteries in landfills instead of being at least recycled properly !

There were rainbow colored packs for a while. They were dumb.

OP, this is a solid deal if you need 10 AAAs. I need a few more, not 10 more though, so I'll pass. (LADDA's from Ikea are rebranded Eneloops and come in 4 packs for $9.)

Quick question: I have and love these. I have eight and two four battery chargers. One of the chargers has a broken contact in one of the charging spaces. I was wondering if you experts can recommend a better charger to replace the broken one.

Skyrc MC5000 isn't cheap, but it's a top top tier charger. Finally gave in, and bought one. Love it.

This is basically the regular price. They sell for around $1.83-$1.89/battery regularly, and it looks like it was even cheaper not long ago.

Opus BT - C3100 V2.2 Universal Battery Charger

I have an earlier model that I'm happy with. Works with Eneloops, has a refresh feature that restores older batteries and a test feature to let you know if they've run their course.

I have several light blue and blue AAs. Not sure when I bought them (2010?) but I'm still using them regularly. Maybe put some blue electrical tape on yours so they don't trash them? Write "Don't!" with a sharpie?

Got all excited until I see they are AAA. AA gets way more use.

There is such a thing as a AAA to AA battery adapter, if you don't mind the smaller energy capacity. For example, this is the Amazon link [amazon.com] I got from a quick search.
But if you're going to spend money for adapters, then maybe just spend more for the AA batteries.

Well, I absolutely mind the much smaller capacity. I have adapter for AA to C and D and they are actually useful because I have so little application for C and D batteries. But I would not use an AAA-to-AA adapter so I can keep more AAA batteries.
