Google is your friend: "Yes, the Cold Steel Kudu Lite Folding Knife features a ring lock mechanism that securely holds the blade open until you decide to close it."
The problem with people calling it dangerous is because they don't know how to PROPERLY use the lock. I didn't either, until I saw a video explaining that you hold the knife horizontally with the ring dangling down, and with your hand facing you, insert your middle finger (so it's coming at you) as you simultaneously push up with your thumb on the back of the blade and pull the ring down with middle finger. It sounds harder than it is, but very easy after a few tries.
It's worth the money. No, it's not a durable survival knife. But it is plenty sharp and durable for light use.
Hate this knife . Feels cheap and the closing mechanism is just stupid.

The pull ring lock, (the real), knife is great for a under $10 knife, one of the best. I thought about buying a box of 10 and giving them away. Using them requires a brief commitment to learning how to open and close them, they don't work like lockbacks. These are popular overseas.
