This Shake Shack promo pairs a Smoky BBQ sandwich purchase with a free single ShackBurger, and the code does work in some areas. The strongest appeal is the effective price drop on a regular burger, especially when the free item is kept to the single version. The main drawbacks are the small burger portions, occasional saltiness, and confusing checkout rules that can trigger vague errors like required items not in bag. Local menu prices also make the deal feel less compelling in some markets.
Common Questions (3)
That error means the cart does not match the promo's required items exactly. The deal can be picky about the specific Smoky Classic BBQ Burger or Chicken Sandwich and the free single ShackBurger, and site issues or ad-blockers can also interfere with checkout.
It can be less appealing in higher-priced markets: one LA metro example puts the Smoky BBQ sandwich at $14.99 and the Smoky burger at $10.99. The value also depends on whether you want the small ShackBurger portions, which are described as very small.
The promo appears to require the Smoky Classic BBQ Burger or Chicken Sandwich plus a single ShackBurger, and the free item is limited to the single ShackBurger rather than a double or triple. Using the exact item names can help the checkout recognize the required items.

It would help if the promotion actually stated it like the actual burger name "Smoky Classic BBQ Burger or Chicken Sandwich."
Try a single Smoky Classic BBQ Burger and then add a single Shackburger (now that I think about it, I think they want you to be free in ordering the Smoky Classic as whatever you want: single, double, triple, etc. more money for them to cover the cost of giving you the free burger, but they will only allow you to get the free burger as a single).
I try to be exact with these promotions; even though, people try different things like doubling, tripling, customizing, etc.
If the deal was actually good, I would be getting exact, so it goes through.
Another unique find.....the Dubai Pistachio Shake is back! OMG!!!
