Walmart+ flat tire repair is a free, practical fix for normal passenger tires when the damage is safely repairable, and it can save the $18 to $30 many shops charge. The benefit has worked on tires bought elsewhere, with some locations turning repairs around quickly and others taking much longer. Access depends heavily on the store, since many Walmarts do not have Auto Centers and some locations refuse low profile tires, aftermarket rims, run flats, or tires that are too worn or unsafe. Calling ahead and checking the local shop's rules matters.

  • Walmart Auto Centers can perform flat tire repairs for tires purchased elsewhere without charging for the repair.

  • Walmart Auto Centers may patch tires when the damage is within a safe, repairable range.

  • Walmart Auto Centers can sometimes handle non-Walmart tire situations and still provide service without requiring a purchase from Walmart.

  • Walmart+ flat tire repair can be free at Walmart Auto Centers with no reimbursement process needed.

  • Some Walmart Auto Center visits reportedly complete patching quickly, including cases under about 45 minutes.

  • Walmart Auto Center eligibility can be limited by tire condition, including tread wear that triggers repair denials and upsells.

  • Walmart Auto Centers may refuse service based on wheel or rim constraints such as aftermarket rims or low-profile tire installation limits.

  • Walmart Auto Centers can have long waits and scheduling issues, including refusals for walk-ins when appointments are not scheduled.

  • Walmart Auto Center service quality can include problems like excessive tire balancing weights or incorrect tire pressure after repair.

Discount Tire does that for free and it doesn't require a membership

on tires you didn't buy there? I rather doubt that.

wm+ can get fuel at sam's, possible they can do flat repair as well. most wm near me don't have tire centers, unfortunately. definitely good to know. lots of tire places are closed un sundays. maybe wm is the only option unless you bought your tires at costco.
you sure on that, I've only seen the benefit at Murphy's Gas at WMT stores listed for PLUS.

is this patching the inside? I tend to just plug my own instead of spending time and gas going somewhere and waiting for them to do it. i try to keep a plug kit in every car.. and especially make sure i have it on road trips.

Discount tire sucks! I tried getting my tire repaired 5x at different locations and they all said no after trying to up sell me on new tires even for the wrong season. Lol they just to be good for tire repairs
Not all tires deserve a free patch. If they can't guarantee the safety of the tire, they won't patch it.

Were you trying to repair sidewall damage lol, after 5 visits I am sure you're the problem and not discount tire. Very hard to believe one of the most reputable tire resellers would do this

Agreed. The only tires I've had them send back to me were tires that had unsafe damage. They due this even when they're the ones on the hook for the replacement (eg, if you have their in-store hazard damage), because the liability of fixing an unsafe tire isn't worth it.

They do it on tires purchased anywhere, no questions asked. I'm not sure if they'd do it for commercial or off-road tires, but definitely all normal passenger vehicle tires.

Discount tire has always charged me for flat repair, Sam's would not patch with membership and wm wouldn't even look as of a few years ago in my experience.

I agree, but for different reasons. I've had tires replaced on 2 different vehicles, and within months, the TPMS fails. Both times, they refused to admit it was their fault, but was more than happy to offer me a 15% discount on a new one. Luckily one vehicle was replaced by Chevy's warranty, the other was fixed by flashing(?) the TPMS, which DT didnt even offer me. Also if you order tires for an RV, make sure that location will also install them. Even if the web site says free installation, you'll have to haul the tires and show your receipt (even though they can see the purchase on their computer) to a location that does RVs. You can take the wheels off and have the tires mounted at any location, but not install them back onto the RV.

No. It was not a sidewall puncture. Lol I fix my own cars I just don't have a tire mounting device.

Also, you have to be very selective in what vehicles and what kind of repair they can actually do. I waited one and a half hours to get my flat tire repaired on Tesla and they refused to to do it despite it being in the fixable area because they don't have proper knowledge to handle EV's... discount tire did it later ( had to get my vehicle towed )-- 6 hours spent
