To my surprise, it was in perfect condition with the plastic film attached, original box and packing, and zero dead pixels. I have it on a corner desk in my home office and the deep curve allows me to shove it tight into the corner.
I don't use it for gaming or need super high brightness, but for everything else it is beautiful, especially for the price.
it's a large panel and it's cheap, and has acceptable specs. your expectations are way out of line for the money.

This 32 inch Samsung Odyssey G5 stands out as a cheap way to get a large 1440p, 165Hz curved gaming monitor. The deep 1000R curve is praised for fitting tightly into a corner desk setup, and the panel is described as looking beautiful for the price when it arrives in good condition. The main knocks are the modest 250 nit brightness, VA panel, and very aggressive curve, which may feel too extreme for a first curved screen. Warranty support and Samsung reliability also draw caution, so it is best suited to shoppers comfortable with the tradeoffs.
Common Questions (5)
The 1000R curve is very deep and can feel unusually curved at first. It also helps the 32-inch panel fit tightly into a corner desk setup, so it is worth seeing in person if you have never used a curved monitor before.
At this price, the 32-inch 1440p size is considered strong value for the money, especially compared with older deals that only reached smaller 1080p monitors. The tradeoff is modest specs like 250 nits, a VA panel, and a very curved 1000R screen.
Yes. DisplayPort 1.2 can handle 1440p at 165Hz on this monitor, so the listed refresh rate is not blocked by the port version alone.
Samsung monitor warranty support can be slow, with intermittent issues requiring reproduction before a shipping label is issued. One reported case took about two weeks of back-and-forth, and another Samsung monitor developed horizontal lines right after the 3-year warranty period.
Yes. Open-box monitors on eBay can arrive with flaws, and the included warranty is only 1 year, so it is worth checking the listing carefully before buying.

That being said, this is tempting at this price but I should really see a 32" 1000R screen in-person before I buy this as my first curved monitor.
