Genova yellowfin tuna in olive oil stands out for rich flavor and easy meal use, especially straight from the can or tossed on salad with the oil as dressing. The oil-packed version is described as tasting much better than water-packed tuna, and the brand is treated as a premium option. The main drawback is sodium, which is called very high for a product advertised as low sodium, though draining the oil can reduce it. Coupon pricing also varies by size and account, so the deal may require clipping the offer carefully.

  • Salad makers who want tuna that doubles as dressing, because the olive oil adds flavor and works well on greens.

  • People who prefer richer canned tuna, because packing it in oil tastes better than packing it in water.

  • Meal preppers who eat tuna straight from the can, because the oil-packed fish is described as satisfying and flavorful.

  • Shoppers comparing can sizes for pantry stocking, because the 12-pack works out a few cents cheaper per can than the 8-pack.

  • Low-sodium eaters who need a truly mild canned fish, because the tuna can be very salty and the salt is added to the oil.

  • People who want a lighter tuna for everyday meals, because the oil-packed version is richer and heavier than water-packed tuna.

  • Anyone who needs a smaller portion for one meal, because the 7-ounce cans feel too large for a single serving.

Great price, but Good Lord this is incredibly salty: 500 mg...normal tuna maxes sodium at 325mg and is advertised as low sodium at 225 or so.

Salt makes everything taste better. Eating low-sodium chunk light tuna packed in water right out of the can really makes you feel like a broke college student.

I used to only eat tuna packed in water thinking it was healthier but the taste is waaaaay better packed in oil. Plus the Genova brand is top shelf!

No coupon for me too! Amazon should let members get discount regardless of previously ordered.
