These are 16 AWG cords for 13A... 12/2 SPT-2 is incorrect. It should read 16/2 SPT-2.

I use these things to split out a couple wall warts. They are very light duty. Walmart is weird on this one. A '5 pack' is just five of these cords pulled from the shelf. The last time I ordered, instead of shipping them, they had a person go and get five off a shelf and drive them to my house.
