So dumb noob question. Considering setting up a Plex server or something similar, anyone know if it's possible to get movies you buy from any of the streaming services onto your plex device? I'm assuming not really, but just wondering.

PlayOn [playon.tv] works as a DVR for digital content for which you have an active subscription. You can add the records to Plex.

There's software that can help you with that however you technically are buying a temporary license to watch the digital content that can be revoked at any time. I don't remember one off hand.if paramount was joining MA this would be an easy sale but so far just Lionsgate

Quick question. Is there an quick way to see which of these I have already purchased on Apple TV? I know I'd they were MA and if the exact same bundle was on Fandango, you could view it on there to quickly see what I already have. To my knowledge, there isn't the same thing on Apple TV aka iTunes.

It just will tell you that you own "some " of them.

I know I likely own many of these but it is still a great deal if there are 25 movies that I don't.

I am afraid I will have to look each one up separately.

AFAIK, there is no easy way on Apple TV's interface (unlike Fandango at Home - which does this!) if you already own it. You have to go through your library or click/tap on each movie.

Works great. Create an account, sync your purchases through the website or the app. Navigate to this bundle and it will show how many and which ones you already have.

When you say "sync your purchases" is this a manual process? Or should I be able to connect it to my Apple account somehow?

EDIT: As of June 13th 2026 there is no auto sync option but it's *decently* painless if you have access to a Mac (or possible PC, I didn't try.)

This video outlines it well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_iCjT67l0E

Another option is to use a Letterboxd account as your 'master' digital collection list. It's a bit of a pain to set up, but just to give you an idea you can create a CSV by copy/pasting your AppleTV movie collection into a Letterboxd CSV upload template.

For FaH, there is a Chrome extension that scrapes and exports titles into a CSV. You can take both and combine them into a master digital collection. This way, you can have separate platform lists and a deduped master collection list that live in the Letterboxd app.

When I see a movie on sale I check Letterboxd and the movie page will show if it is part of my collection. This gives me a 'source of truth' rather than guessing or checking multiple apps to see if I have a non-MA digital license.

Lots of folks do this with spreadsheets, but I like having the extra movie page data and the convenience of using the Letterboxd UI to update collections.

On the website, there is a button to upload a file from itunes/apple tv app on desktop. In the app, you select "More", then "Preferences", then "sync local media library". Then wait a minute and you will get a popup saying it was successful. Then you can select lists and view the purchases registered. The app has a few drawbacks I noticed but I dont think the developer can do anything about. It cannot tell if it is a MoviesAnywhere import or a code redemption. (Those are still marked as if you bought in iTunes). However, it will have the correct purchase date. It can trip up on similar names in the same category and mark it incorrectly. If a movie is relisted, it can pick the wrong one for your purchased. Love the app but want people to be mindful of the drawbacks.

Good deal but I have most of mine on the old Vudu and just a few with Amazon. Vudu is free unlike Apple that is what about $15 a month now?

They took my money for lifetime subscription on windows and then discontinue the software. They are not very trustworthy. Also it's going to be 1080p only with a huge banner with your name and IP address.
