Picked this up for 108 last year. It is a nice addition / looks good on the shelf next to the deluxe LOTR and Silmarillion. Would recommend if you're a big middle earth nerd like myself
I was very close to getting these last year, but having the trilogy in one large volume just seemed too obtuse for actual reading. There's a box set of 3 for $48 right now as well, which are very simple hardcover copies but they feel nice. If you're looking for function over form, I can't recommend those enough.. There is also a hobbit and silm in the same style.
I'm aware this deal probably appeals to a different crowd but just thought I'd mention it for anyone looking.

I have this sets hobbit and silmarillion, but opted for the the deluxe Alen Lee 3 book lord of the rings set for the same reason or not wanting one giant LOTR book. They mesh well together on the display, such that you can't really tell they are two different sets. The worst part of the display is this sets hobbit has a lime green companion book that stands out badly. That being said these are largely ornamental for me, as I have smaller paper back copies for reading that I've had for over 20 years and are already fairly worn down. I just enjoy having pretty display versions for showing off my favorite books, and occasionally thumbing through the pretty pictures lol

I have both LOTR sets - the Tolkien one and the Alan Lee one and IMO the Alan Lee one is better

Lord of the Rings is NOT a trilogy, it's a single book. Publishers broke it into three volumes.

Yeah haha I got the Lego book nook and looked at my beat up paperbacks and said I need something nicer lol
I just picked up the Silmarillion, a hole in my Tolkien shelf. I have the 1970's Hobbit and TLOR in the green and red slipcase, I read them until their condition is not the best! before they ever became movies. Ah, well.
