Ha, that's the first thing I thought too after reading so many pressure washer posts. While it's true that triplex pumps are longer lasting, they also seem to add hundreds to the price. From my research, it's not that axial pumps are bad, triplex pumps are probably overkill for the average home user who does their sidewalk and driveway twice a year or something. Taken care of, axial pumps can last 500-800 hours. For that kind of home use, that could be a decade or more. For commercial use, that could be less than a year so that's why triplex pumps exist.

yeah, its really hard going into an enthusiast community and sorting through what matters and what doesnt. but from everything im reading they always say that the pump is more important than the engine. its one of those things where, sure, i probably dont need it, but id very much prefer to spend more on a model with a better pump, as long as its a "sale" or a "deal". just unfortunate that the deals that get posted here are always for the cheaper pumps.

How does this compare to the BE Power unit they are selling in store for 100 bucks less? gpm and psi seem pretty close. Is this higher priced because its a honda engine? Also, anyone know for sure what the costco return policy is? It doesnt seem to exclude all gas powered items but i wonder if that clause is hidden somewhere.

Not the best price but I'd have to assume you're paying mostly for that nearly indestructible Honda engine. Most other pressure washers don't have a Honda engine...tempting !

I have a really old, no idea the age, thinking from the 90s or earlier with a honda engine, its a beast. Has a viking pump on it, still works great
