These don't really attract mosquitoes. If they happen to fly into it, it does kill them.

Probably could have skipped the second sentence. Mosquitoes are not attracted to light. Bug zappers are useless at best.

There's a hack to make them work better for mosquitoes - run around until you get really sweaty, rub this all over your body, and then set it on top of a small heater. You're welcome. 😆
You're right, some sorts of flies and other insects are attracted to UV light but mosquitoes aren't.

UV light will attract moths. You will need a mosquito attractant (like Octanol) clipped on to the metal mesh.

This work well enough to kill what touches it and the solar powered is nice, I actually see it powered on still in the morning so it lasts through the night on a summer day.

I would suggest pairing this with the viral 'mosquito bucket of doom' and a regular schedule of 'talstar p' to really control mosquitoes.

Another idea is to get the carbon dioxide tank to release CO2 next to the zapper and the mosquitos will then be attracted to it and get zapped.
