Well, that's a nice opening... Could you expand on those thoughts some more - especially to those who have never used Blink cameras and thought this was a good deal for coverage? I've thought of going with Blink in the past...so your experience and frustrations would be helpful to many...

I could say the same thing about Arlo - after they changed their model and required everyone to go to a paid subscription plan to get clips of the recorded events.

Been using a blink system for several years. I have been happy with our system which includes a doorbell, 3 outdoor cameras and 1 indoor camera for pet shenanigans. The batteries do last quite long, based on your usage. You can customize motion detection zones to cut down on nuisance alarms which extends battery life quite a bit. You can schedule the system to arm and disarm throughout the week. You will need to pay for full clip storage, etc. and I think that's $100 per year. My cameras have been hit by rain, snow, ice, sleet, birds, spiders, freezing cold weather and burning hot/humid summers and no failures yet.

I have the v3 system and have had no issues. I was thinking about adding this v4 system, but the reviews sorted by most recent are not good.

Also wondering if this will be lower on prime day...

I have xt2 and they are amazing.

But blink is trash.
Since xt2 they removed the hardware motion sensor and replaced it with a subscription AND still made the cameras more expensive.

Hard pass.

It's good system to have if you have Amazon account and want to keep an eye on while you are out of house. I have 5+ wireless camera and their wired camera as well for inside home use.
It does require the subscription for more support on storage and video length. Worth paying for tho IMO.

One downside: Don't keep your camera on alert 24/7 max zone coverage with best video quality. This will drain the batteries really fast and won't last 1 month.
I have learn to use it better and now keep it off alert when we are home. I am only activating while we are out and all my cameras batteries have last more than 6 months.
One thing I wish to have within the app is activate/deactivate based on your location function. It would come in handy if you are in and out a lot from home.

I like the fact there is unlimited cameras you can put on your account for the $10/mth $120/yr.

I actually have cameras on three properties and it's all under the same subscription. It's like $3/mth for each location. As long as you can get Wi-Fi you are good.

Where can you get cameras for three locations for basically $3/mth for each location?

for us, blink has been mostly trouble free and well worth the price. just get the sync module 2 for this to replace the non-thumb drive one that this comes with. then you can use a simple thumb drive and not have to get their subscription after the first month when it's free. https://www.amazon.com/Blink-Sync...197&sr=8-1

Does it put out an RTSP stream? If not you cannot use it with frigate to avoid subscriptions, keep your videos out of the cloud where prying eyes will pry, and keep all your video on your own network. ReoLink and Tapo are RTSP. maybe some others too.
