If you live in a maximum humidity environment, I imagine the misting is not that useful?

Pretty much. You're better off with a drum fan if you're in the garage/outside.
The mist will soak everything instead of evaporating.

Can't I save some money and just piss my pants and then use a regular fan?

Interesting variation on a theme. I'm enjoying my Ryobi version that just that sits on top of a Home Depot bucket that you fill with water. Not as slick looking as this fan but works very well.

How big of a room or area in square feet would this keep comfortably cool? We have several smart portable ACs in a warehouse property but there are some very small storage rooms that are hot spots that we periodically have to inventory for 6-8 hours. I'm not seeing any useful reviews that would help answer. Thanks in advance fam.

Check the specs, not the reviews. It should have sqft coverage. If not, find out how much cfm is needed for your room based on your sqft and ceiling height. Then divide that by the fans cfm to see how many you will need.
