Tools are one of those things people will pay more; for utility.

To that end; I wish they would stop trying to make 18" depth, happen. I just feel like I'm being ripped off.

If you don't have the garage space for a 24", the skinnier tool chests are awesome.

Why are people in such an uproar about 18" depth? If you want a unit with deeper drawers, get a unit with deeper drawers. I'd rather have options to be able to work in different spaces.

I opted to get the kobalt k1 for 398 at lowes. Did I mess up? I was comparing between the two and went for the other one (I also didn't want to drive further to pick it up)

I hate to admit it cause the Craftsman is partially USA-made, but the Kobalt seems built a lot better. I feel like the Craftsman's spec sheets are a lie. The K1 weighs a good bit more too. I could tell a noticeable difference between the two. The K1 feels more sturdy.

The Yukon Harbor Freight Tools version that is
46" (instead of 52") is $300 with coupon right now. But it comes with wood top
Opted for that instead

As did I. It fits in the space available and is just a better value

It's the tip over factor, skinnier depth with heavily loaded drawers can cause it to tip over when opened.

Avoid. I have the Craftsman and it's a giant piece of crap. Flimsy steel and drawer sides. A Harbor Freight chest would be an upgrade.

It's a great box for the price. I picked one up 8 years ago at Black Friday for $199. If I had the room I'd buy another at $300 in a heartbeat.
