1. Do not buy a blood pressure monitor unless it is validated. Validated models can be found here: https://www.validatebp.org/

2. Read and understand the instructions published by American Heart Association on the correct way to prepare and take a blood pressure reading. AHA has pdf with instructions and blood pressure log located here: https://www.heart.org/-/media/Fil...re-Log.pdf

3. Understand "White-coat hypertension". High BP readings in a medical office could result in an incorrect diagnosis of hypertension. More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whi...pertension

I share this info after going thru a misdiagnosis and being prescribed 40 mg of lisinopril earlier this year. If one enjoys dizziness and other side effects this is the dosage for you. I did not enjoy it and started logging my BP daily. I cut the dosage by 10 mg every two weeks until I stopped taking any medication. After a month of taking nothing, my average BP is consistently below 120/80.

Products like this that have almost 10% negative reviews are not worth it. Inaccurate and battery drain issues make it junk.

They are mostly known for making car invertors over the years.

I have no experience with this product, but it's not their main thing they produce. The price is right, but I'd like something very accurate. Tempting though.

take with you to your next dr visit and compare against the dr's machine numbers. most likely the omron (reliable brand) is the most accurate

Omron is indeed a good brand, but I've always been concerned by what their name becomes if you rearrange the first two letters...

This is a bad idea.
There is little reason to go into the accuracy and repeatability of a product when even its color coding classifies stage 1 hypertension as normal. 80-84 mmHg diastolic is AHA stage 1 hypertension, NOT normal. There are other $15 BP monitors out there, but do yourself a favor and buy a named brand one with some sort of endorsement.

May want to check with your health insurance providers, they may give you a free monitor. I've swapped through maybe 3 providers in the last 10 years and each one always gave me a free yearly BP monitor. Also take them along to the Dr and compare in office results for accuracy
