Not a bad deal. This, plus another $8,000 and you might have yourself a nice little Fortnite machine 👌

Not a bad deal, but not worth it. Buy the 7500X3D bundle for $100 more and get on AM5. They just announced they'll be supporting it until 2029, which means you'll still have a modern PC by only upgrading the CPU and GPU until at least 2033. AM4 is great but it's a dead end platform.

What am I missing here? This is the regular bundle that's always listed for 200. This bundle has been listed for months at this price.

A 5070ti can be had at $699 or a for 5060ti 16gig at 300.99 was easy to get. A marketplace SSD for $150 and you've got a quality set up for sub 1k

Amd did say, in an interview, that they are looking for ways to have AM5 use ddr6 ram. Either a motherboard swap or possibly a bios update. So IF they can, it makes even more sense to spend the extra $100

Just because AMD will continue to ship AM5 CPUs is no guarantee that the particular AM5 motherboard you buy today will be compatible with those future CPUs. The 3000G re-release on AM4 is just such an example (albeit an imperfect example, since few were upgrading to a 3000G).

Despite the reasons why the 3000G can be ignored as an edge case, it does serve to undermine the regular fallacy presented in future-proofing arguments despite the laudable long-life ecosystem support AMD has fostered. Buy what you need today with the budget you have today.

Good luck!
Jon

When was the 5060ti easy to get? I couldn't get one during the best buy deal recently for the life of me.

I have lived by the "buy only what you need now" principle and it has always saved me money in the long run.

Though I'm getting tempted to future proof just to save me the labor of swapping out the motherboard when the time comes.

This is just the standard deal Microcenter always has. It's just about the best deal, you just have to live nearby.
Fortunately I do. I purchased this recently to set up a home NAS. Nothing crazy, but if you like building computers; this and a few other cheap parts got me into unraid and dockers. It was well worth the investment!
Storage prices are awful right now, but I'll cross my fingers we all have a few old hdds sitting around.

Look like a great upgrade from an FX system running my NAS.

You're making all of this up. 5070ti's are $1000 and 5060tis are only available in a state with a microcenter at that price LOL

At Computex there were a number of brands that are manufacturing new AM4 motherboards. It's not going anywhere anytime soon.
