Hotline Miami was probably my favorite Vita game. Essentially a top down shooter, but in many ways a puzzle game. On a somewhat similar note, I Am Your Beast is like a first person version of it.

Yes it's absolutely a modern game with action combat plus accumulated action counters to give it a pseudo turn based feel. Honestly going into it new from an FF7 perspective is fine. You'll hear many mixed opinions because like most fandoms, "I'm right and everybody else is wrong".

In my opinion, the story is great, the combat is fine (I do find the timings kinda jank but maybe it's my skill issue), and the graphics are phenomenal (with some exceptions, lighting sucks at times). You don't have the nostalgia goggles which is a double edged sword. There will be moments you won't appreciate as much, but also won't be forced to think about "pacing" like if you compared a Harry Potter book to its movie.

I can't go any more into the story related to the OG game because it's a huuuuge spoiler, but it was fantastic to see it having played the OG.

Does Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade play like a modern game? I never played the original so I wouldn't be playing it through any nostalgia goggles. Wondering if it'll still be fun from a modern perspective.

There's a bundle for both games in FFVll remakes for $32 on steam. You'll save a couple bucks that way instead of buying them separately. I've been waiting for these to go on sale and bought the bundle.

I just bought the bundle as well! Looking forward to it. My only experience with FF is Crisis Core on PSP, I think back in 2008 or so.
