This is my least favorite format or shape of ice. I really dislike the way it melts due to it being hollow. I either want cubes or pebble ice. If you aren't weird about the shape of ice like me, this is probably a perfectly suitable machine. I like Govee stuff.

I am totally with you! I have a fading nugget maker and was excited to see this but the nice shape is a no go
Glancing at previous GoveeLife icemakers, thousands of reviews, all avg 4.5 - 5 stars
I have the older smaller version of their smart Ice maker, makes this exact shape ice cubes in 3 sizes, I don't have any qualms with that. I use it for cold water or I will manual crush it for Vietnamese ice coffee. Mine is slower at about 6-7 (hehe) minutes per batch. Goveelife is solid and the app is great for reminding me whenever the basket is 'full' with ice while I am somewhere else in the house or even away from the house.
This was delivered 3 days ago and I have some thoughts.
Had both of the previous Govee ice makers for 1 year and 3 years, respectively. No issues to report with those. Apart from the water fill line being difficult to see... and slightly overfilling causing leaking... basically perfect devices for what they do.
The Pro 2 model? Ehhh. I'm definitely unconvinced it's worth three times the price. It's not possible to make it turn off without physically touching it, meaning the lights stay on and the compressor runs in the background, wasting power. (When the standard models are off, they're off-off, only the WiFi connection is on).
This is a VERY large device. Make sure you're setting this up in a permanent spot. You're not going to want to move it. The standard ice makers? Just pick up and move with zero hassle. You can easily bring it out to your pool, bbq, etc.and bring it in when you're done.
There's also a fair amount of install. You have to put in a plastic piece, prime the tank, install brackets and tubes, etc. (normal ice makers: rinse the scoop, rinse the basket, fill the basket with ice and discard that batch.) all of that also applies to the Pro.
At the end, what does it get you? The large ice is almost exactly twice as heavy as the large from the standard machine. Both are 7 minutes/batch, but the pro gives consistent size from the start (standard machine gives like... 2 mm see-through ice for first batch after being left idle.)
The side tank can't be filled from the top. You have to remove it, unscrew the plug at the bottom and fill it from the bottom. The designers, apparently, have never used a Keurig, Nespresso, or even their own ice machines. It's easier to just fill the (internal) tank by popping off the hatch and filling it with a pitcher.
But like... 3/4s or 2/3s of the water capacity is in the external tank... and the internal tank is the same size as the standard machine. Also, the internal tank is almost exactly the right size for the basket. You fill the tank, you fill the basket. You can't use the external one when the basket is full so... what's the point?
Finallly, the free gift. I was charged $283 for the Pro 2 and $68 for the "free" purifier. That means if I want to return one, I have to return both... no big deal, I wasn't expecting to keep it for free, but I don't have a separate return option or QR code for it, so a return of both will likely require some customer service.
In conclusion: this makes large, bullet ice relatively quickly (~7 minutes per 9 ice pieces). It is fantastically quiet and the quality of noise it makes is great. (No squealing or high-pitched noise and it's very consistent.)
There are certainly some quality of life improvements I'd like to see: give me a countdown to the next ice batch in the app, please. Allow me to turn the unit off remotely, please. Make it so you can wake it from "as off as it gets" without having to open the ice door.
So... overall, I don't know. I could have the standard machine PLUS the Frigidaire machine that makes pellet ice PLUS another standard one for my basement, or something.
You be the judge. The previous Pro was $500 with no air purifier and people loved it.
