This aluminum hardtop gazebo is pitched as a low cost way to add covered outdoor space, with enough structure to support a small solar setup for lighting or backup power. The black version has also shown a lower real world price around $160, and a white option costs $8 more. Assembly and anchoring matter, though, since the frame can feel flimsy until fully built, may need concrete anchors, and fit under eaves can be tight. Missing screws and no roof snow rating add to the durability questions, making it a better fit for milder climates.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. It should be tied down with concrete anchors or similar hardware because wind can move it and vibration can become an issue. One installation used 4 concrete anchors per post for stability.

  • It can potentially hold a couple of solar panels, and the space underneath can be used for a battery setup. That makes it a low-cost base for lighting or small backup-power projects.

  • Not always. One setup could not fit under the eaves and ended up sitting about a foot away from the wall, so wall clearance depends on your site and mounting method.

  • There is no roof snow rating listed, which is a concern for colder climates. That makes it harder to judge how much snow load the hardtop can handle.

  • It can arrive missing some short screws, and assembly is described as flimsy until all pieces are together. A partial refund was offered to cover locally purchased screws, and two people are recommended for assembly.

3.7 stars. 20% 1 star.
Star ratings are almost meaningless these days. Too many people rate an item without actually using it or because they had shipping problems or couldnt use it because it was the wrong size etc... Best to read them instead of looking at quantity.

It's aluminum...I have an aluminum cover similar to this over my front steps, and it has been there since I had the vinyl siding installed 20 years ago. Mine is white however, and I'm in southern New York, so it's not super hot here, but I can't imagine this gettimg hot enough to melt siding.

I got the fully set up. It didn't come with enough the short screws. I contacted the company and they responded quickly with a partial refund to cover the cost of buying them locally. Mine wouldn't fit under the eaves so it sits about a foot away from the wall. I used the mounting bracket on the unused threaded holes near the top and attached it to the eave with some scrap wood, and used 4 concrete anchors for each post.

Overall it's pretty sturdy once you get it fully assembled. The posts are a little wobbly where the two parts meet, but it's plenty strong. And having two people to assemble this would greatly help. I did it myself and it's really flimsy until you get all the pieces together.
