I like that it auto-detects hard floor and carpet and changes suction. The included tools are good, though I only used the crevice tool. I like that I can store 2 tools on the body.
However, I noticed the vacuum making a whirring noise on startup and it seems to have gotten louder on carpets. I've cleaned all the areas and hoses that I can but the issue is still there. Since it was only 2 months old, I gave Shark a call and they offered to replace the Costco model UV3900 with the similar but "upgraded" AZ4002. The rep said that the AZ4002 worked out some kinks that the UV3900 had. Can't judge the veracity of that statement though.
I was also considering the Dyson Animal 3, but the hose attachment on that seems like a hassle to use. Also, the head has no light?! So, I decided to roll the dice and stick with the Shark.
