the younger melo in denver when nobody watched that team, where he was big enuff to play powerforward spot but beat the common pf in his era as he had unique speed, allowed for mismatches advantage to him in scoring. he had more physical power over the shooting guards spots too.
its funny.. his advantages got diminished as he got into his late 20s, the nba got smaller, players exceeded him in speed, less post up more face up... he lost his competitive advantages. he had alot of games as just a high vol jump shooter.
he was stubborn as a hood dog and never lost the extra lbs to get more speed, until the twilight years dangling with portland, then he was sleek.
