This mini PC is a compact Ryzen 7 7735HS box best suited for everyday computing, media serving, light gaming, and server tasks. The Radeon 680M and 24GB of RAM are described as strong enough for Plex, Jellyfin, Steam Link, game servers, and lighter games like Roblox, Minecraft, and League of Legends, with support for three 4K monitors. Main cautions are the weaker 680M versus newer 780M systems, soldered LPDDR5 5500 memory, and a 512GB PCIe SSD that may be only third gen. Thermals, fan quality, and past ACEMAGIC security concerns also come up, so a fresh Windows install or Linux is often recommended.

Common Questions (6)

  • It is a decent deal for a strong mini PC, but several price checks suggest it has been cheaper before, with past mentions around $300-$325 and similar newer 780M-based systems sometimes costing only a bit more. The main tradeoff is that this model uses the older Radeon 680M instead of the faster 780M.

  • Yes, the Ryzen 7 7735HS and Radeon 680M are strong enough for a Plex or Jellyfin box, including multiple 4K Dolby Vision/Atmos streams and general server tasks. It is also described as a good fit for a play computer or media server, though heavier always-on workloads may benefit from extra cooling.

  • Yes. The NVMe drive can be swapped, and several comments note the M.2 SSD can run hot enough to benefit from a heatsink; some users also add a laptop fan or USB cooling pad for always-on use.

  • A clean Windows install is commonly recommended before using it, especially because older ACEMAGIC units were tied to malware/spyware concerns. Reinstalling Windows 11 from Microsoft and updating BIOS/drivers is the practical way to start from a known-clean system.

  • It can handle lighter games like Roblox, Minecraft, and League of Legends comfortably, and it can emulate ROMs well. Heavier games such as Valorant, GTA V, and Elden Ring are reported to be nearly unplayable even at 720p with settings turned down, so it is not a hardcore gaming machine.

  • It can run three 4K monitors, but not four. If you need a multi-display setup, three 4K outputs are the practical limit mentioned for this model.

I just do not understand how this is getting the thumbs up...

For this price I would want and expect a 780M either a 7840HS or a 8745HS or a Ryzen 7 255... all do about the same and all have the 780M.

Go to facebook market place or ebay and search "8745HS mini PC" or search "7840HS mini PC" or search Ryzen 7 255 mini pc.

$448... ACEMAGIC S3A Mini Gaming PC,AMD Ryzen 7 H255,16GB LPDDR5 512GB SSD,Win11Pro WiFi ON EBAY

rIght now.. there is not much stock, but just keep checking. I will add that I would JUMP at paying $50 more for the model I posted with the Ryzen 7 255

price was $299 around 2025 BF

IMHO, this is a rip off right now.

I purcahed a firebat 8745hs 16GB 512GB for $232 in the day... sold it on Facebook marketplace for $380. I feel that is a fair deal.

Dell, HP, Lenovo. Which often come from mainland China as well. But at least you theoretically get better support.
Support is also from Asia.

Yeah, dude, practically everything in our country is made in China. Or at least more than not.

Ram and Storage were both way cheaper back in the day.

You mean like Sony, with their rootkit, or Apple with their forced U2 album, Ford and Chevy both covering up fatality causing defects in their vehicles which they deemed cheaper to pay lawsuits than repair, that sort of "lack of ethics & quality control"? Spare me the fake outrage. It is just as bad to claim something is still happening when it isn't. That's lack of ethics as well.
Acemagic: "Our software developers, in an effort to enhance user experience by reducing initial boot time, made adjustments to the Microsoft source code, including network settings, without obtaining software digital signatures, and the RGB lighting control software was also without one. This oversight led to isolated reports of virus-infected mini PCs manufactured before November 18, 2023."
They were lax in their digital signature network security a couple of years ago when trying to make their slow devices faster. That resulted in viruses able to get onto systems. There was no hardware or software "malware" installed, the digital security software has long since been strengthened, and there have been no repeats of the problem. Fake outrage over things like this when trying to get a computer on the cheap is silly.
It would be better to stick to facts in the present tense, with the present device, such as information on whether it lives up to its stated specs and prices.
Are you a shill for just this brand or china in general? You seem a little worked up in defending a sub par product.

No shit...

I say this is not a good deal because of the CPU.

This is an amazing CPU but this CPU has the 680M when the very next level CPU up in AMD's chain starts to house the 780M GPU. There is a very large difference in GPU performance.

But the price is not that much more. For less then $450 you can find similar specs but with 16GB of RAM that is upgradeable and a Ryzen 7 255 (that is two generations newer!!!). And I have seen many systems go for $400.

YES...

When I got that Firebat... I purchased 32GB (16x2) DDR5 5600 and a 2TB SK Hynix P041. I paid $50 for the memory used on Facebook Market Place and I got one of the last hard drive deals for this model that was posted on SD.net., paid $130.

So I sold my bat for $380 with original specs and I bought the Acemagic 5FA (AI 370 HX) for $500.

Per Acemagic, the company they used to install the OS installed this malware. Acemagic claims they had no clue and other companies also used this third party and the same viruses showed up on their devices as well. BOTTOM LINE... Acemagic produced and shipped mini PCs with pre-installed spyware and malware in systems manufactured before November 18, 2023. Just make sure you buy hardware that Acemagic used only after November 18, 2023 such as this CPU or the 7840HS or the 8745HS.

BUT FORGET ABOUT THAT...

If you did purchase an infected PC TODAY (old stock)... all you need to do is run windows defender virus software and it would find the viruses and clean your PC.

Windows 11 Pro is registered with Microsoft through the motherboard's serial number. Regardless of what PC you buy YOU REALL SHOULD.... (I have done this with EVERY SINGLE PC I OWN)
1. Download a fresh copy of Windows 11 straight from Microsoft (don't need to know any registration info... already registered to your PC though motherboard's serial number.)
2. Use Rufus to create a usb thumb drive (at least 16GB in size), I like to disable logging into microsoft and with Rufus you can create a USB thumb drive that you do not need to log into microsoft to install Windows
3. BEFORE you install anything, I advice you to download all drivers and place them on another usb thumb drive.
4. make sure your Bios from the manufacture is upto date... that is you have the newest version.
5. Combine all hard drive partitions
6. INSTALL A CLEAN COPY OF WINDOWS.
7. First driver to make sure works should be the WLan driver so you can access your wifi network... May already be working.
8. Now go to Edge, go to google.com and search, "AMD DRIVERS INSTALLATION SOFTWARE" and go to AMD and install this software and let it update your drivers.
9. Update Windows... this may take some time and you may need to do this multiple times.
10. Usually, all your drivers will be working but you should double check by going to "device manager" and make sure everything is populated and working.

IF YOU DO THIS, you will never have to worry about having an effected hard drive or need to worry about bloatware. I have done this for every single computer I have ever owned in my life. AND when you install a clean OS... the speed of your computer shines. BUT this mini PC comes super clean out of the box. One of the things People LOVE about mini pc(s).

Right now, I have brought my mini PC back to specs and plan to sell it used on EBAY. I have a 8745HS. 16GB and 512GB. Hope to get $400. And I just performed a complete reinstall with WIndows 11. (so I just did all those steps above).

I want to add that the laptop I am typing on is a 3rd gen i7, I upgraded the RAM to 16GB DDR 2 (8GB x 2) and I installed a Samsung 970 1TB SSD. This laptop is approximately 14 years old and is still running well and is still getting updates from Microsoft. I am thinking about installing Windows 11 this Xmas (official date when Microsoft will no longer update WIndows 10)... I can use RUFUS to bypass the system restrictions to install Windows 11.
Even better, install a Linux distro.
