Anyone know if this is any good? Enough suction? I have a Harder corded 5 hp shop vacuum right now. Thinking cordless would be nice

I have this. Plenty suction but very loud and eats through a battery pretty quick. For a quick clean up it's amazing, no cord to deal with, but for a large mess you'll need too many batteries

I have this , from about 3 years ago, yes you need a few batteries for it if yuor doing a lot of picking up. I used the crevice attachment the most. 2 batteries have been enough for every job I have used it for. Its been used and abused and works great. All the "portable" shop vacs from all these brands gobble up their batteries when using something like this. The convenience is well worth it. And dont forget to clear off your filter outside too, obviously (like any shop vac) it will lose power if the filter is clogged up !

I bought this for one reason. Suck ash out of my charcoal grill. The filter clogs, and it overheats and shuts itself off to protect the motor.

Wouldn't buy again.

Everyone in BBQ uses shop Vacs to suck ash out of their pits. I'm the only person with this problem. An 18v motor isn't powerful or torque enough to muscle through a clogged filter for later cleaning.

Stopped by the comments to say we use this for our pellet grill and haven't had anything but successful results. You need to empty the vac after each use.

I do the same and never had an issue. Just clean the filter and keep going.
But then again mine is the 3 gallon version and not this specific version but I imagine they work pretty much the same.

For those commenting on filters clogging quick you may want to look at filter covers. I use on my 16 gallon shop vac and I also have this vacuum. Not only will they keep you filter clean but when they start to clog you can use compressed air or fine bristle brush to clean the cover and resume vacuuming task. Most of the covers can be washed also.

Aand I'm out. Thanks for the info! I usually vacuum two cars at a time so I'll stick to cords I guess.
