It seems like the only way to upgrade right now is either to buy a prebuilt system or get a bundle deal at Micro Center

I lucked out and got this or a similar motherboard variant that takes DDR4, the MSI Pro B760-P WIFI DDR4. I still paired it with a 13th gen CPU (i5-13500t) and got access to PCIe 4.0. But I was able to use some 8 GiB DDR4 sticks I got off of Facebook Marketplace for $20 a piece. I feel like that would be a better way to go for a lot of people.
