Fitbit Charge 6 is a slim fitness tracker that stands out for sleep tracking, heart rate, step data, and a battery that can last around six days. The box includes both a small and a large band, with the small size fitting wrists from 5.5 to 7.1 inches and the large from 7.1 to 8.7 inches. A newer Momentum watch face can show five data points at once, and text notifications are usable on the screen. The main drawbacks are the Google account tie in, occasional band irritation, and durability concerns ranging from corrosion at the charging point to units failing after about two years.
The Charge 6 includes a small band attached plus an additional large band, which helps cover smaller and larger wrist circumferences.
The Momentum watch face can show multiple data points at once without cycling through the display.
The Charge 6 can deliver usable text message notifications on its screen for quick glance access.
Amazon returns for the Charge 6 can be handled smoothly with a refund or a post-purchase coupon to partially refund while keeping the item.
Tying the Fitbit account to a Google account can complicate family device login management and add setup friction.
The Charge 6 can experience corrosion-related charging failures over time, including pitted metal at the connection point.
The Fitbit website closure can limit reliance on a web dashboard experience for account viewing.
The Charge 6 can show reduced battery life over time after extended use.

The Charge 6 doesn't have a single face layout option that will show you all of that at once without having to tap the face to cycle the display, and have it still be readable. NOT ONE. It has a bunch of bullshit artsy faces that look really cool and don't do the job I need them to do. edit: they added one that has what I wanted at some point, I just checked the app and updated to it.
It's probably the worst device I've owned in the past decade, maybe longer. I would honestly trade it straight up for a brand new Inspire 2. Charge 6 is a perfect encapsulation of the enshitification of technology.
However, I completely stop using it, because my health insurance company does not give out reward anymore. Some health insurance company read the activities from your sport tracking device. If your activities meet the requirement, they give you reward up to a few hundreds dollars per year.
Right now, since there is no reward, I don't wear it.

I have the Inspire 3 right now and am in the market for a replacement. Ideally, I would like them to come out with an Inspire 4 with the same slim profile. It's hard to find a smart watch that isn't huge on the wrist.

Also, Google recently killed the Fitbit app and replaced it with their own. The Fitbit app was good and had a great calorie counter feature. Google's app seems to have been written by someone who never used the device.
My previous Charge lasted exactly one year before bricking. No amount of hard resets would restore it.
Contrast this to another family member's six year old Inspire that's still working, though the screen is growing dimmer.
I thought at this point basic fitness trackers would be under $50. Instead, the market seems to have moved upscale. While there are some cheaper alternatives from Amazfit and Xiaomi, they've proven to be quite poor. The Amazfit needs only updates heart rate every few minutes unless you specifically tell it to measure now. The step counting on all trackers is pretty bad, though the Amazfit was definitely worse.
