The Speedwoofer 10e comes across as a strong value ported sub for small offices, 2.1 desktop setups, and modest home theater rooms, with enough output to pair well with bookshelf speakers and even support a second sub later. It is praised for punchy, weighty bass, good music performance, and a wider, smoother response than some sealed rivals, while RSL's customer service and resale value add to the appeal. The main tradeoffs are its large footprint for a 10 inch driver, limited deep bass below about 26 hertz, and no Bluetooth. A solid fit when space and ultra low bass are not the priority.

  • Owners wanting a second sub for smoother room coverage, because dual placement evens out bass across seats and reduces peaks and nulls.

  • Apartment or office listeners pairing bookshelf speakers, because it adds strong bass without needing extreme gain and sounds incredible in smaller rooms.

  • Home-theater beginners building their first real bass setup, because it delivers an easy entry point that can stay in the system long term.

  • Movie-focused listeners in medium rooms, because the ported design gives more output and weighty bass than a sealed sub.

  • Music-first listeners in small enclosed rooms, because the ported design can sound less satisfying than a sealed sub for undistracted music.

  • Listeners expecting deep subsonic bass, because it only reaches about 26 Hz and will not deliver strong felt output below 20 Hz.

  • People needing a tiny cabinet for tight placement, because the enclosure is large for a 10-inch driver and can be hard to hide.

  • Buyers who want proven long-term reliability, because one report says the amp plate died after a few months and support never replied.

I will not go that far... lol. I feel the smaller the sub the tighter the base BUT I don't want tight... I want bass. And I find 15" just too much... I find 12" the sweet spot FOR ME, it may be 10" or even 8" for others. But 21" is INSANE.I will add that my tower speakers at home EACH have a 10" sub with a 12-inch passive radiator and that is way loud enough for me. BUT I have two of them. Don't know how I would feel with one.
Yikes now you've done it!
He knows what's works FOR YOU, you better agree or else!

The salesman will tell you "towers" that produce lower bass are a waste when you use a sub!
Apparently all you need is this 10" 400 watt sub and it will replace those towers!!!

Here is another salesman..... Hmmm I wonder which one is more knowledgeable?

Other than not having an APP to play around with while seated, I see no reason anyone would be disappointed with the RSL, especially for the price difference. You can almost get two RSL's for the price of one SVS and in the world of subs, two is always preferred to one.
Agreed...the SVS phone app is nice to have but once you get your sub dialed in, you pretty much never have to bother with it again. And getting two RSL 10e for the same price as a single SB1000 Pro...hahahaha only some desperate SVS shill would try to talk you out of that.

This is arguably the best budget subwoofer under $500 on the market by a wide margin.Gets back its original release price back in 2024, before all the tariff-driven and oil-war inflation kicked in.Pro review with measurements:https://www.audioholics.com/subwo...woofer-10eNice discussion on Reddit comparing the 3 RSL subs (prices from 2yrs ago):https://www.reddit.com/r/BudgetAu...out_the_ne...
Tempting, but I rather spend a little more for the S MKII version. Lower bass frequency and more input connections. I hope it goes on sale!

Original release price was $400 back in 2016...so $100 increase ten years later is about on par for the course. Maybe around Black Friday? They also have an "Encore Store" now where you can sometimes find alleged B-stock for less, esp. if you sign up for auto-notification: https://rslspeakers.com/pages/encore-store

i have a CS1200, would it be ideal to run a dual sub setup with a 10e?

"Ideally", no not really.
This has 100 watts more but smaller woofer & footprint.

They're similar enough that with tinkering, you could make it work.

You might also consider just getting another CS1200, in the end you'll have similar results with less cost to boot.

You could also buy & try to actually know if it works for you.
You have 30 days and would cost $50 to return it for a full refund.

IDEALLY, dual sub setups should employ the exact same two subs. Ideally, dual sub setups should have an AVR or processor that can EQ the two subs INDEPENDENTLY.

IN REALITY, some folks do used mismatched subs and AVRs without independent EQ for dual subs (often they just use a Y-splitter if the AVR has only one subwoofer output jack), but are happy with the results nonetheless.

Common sense would tell you that you do not want the two subs to be overly disparate in performance/capability. For instance, it would be foolish to use say, a Hsu VTF-3 with a Yamaha 8" sub.

Since you already have the CS1200 on hand, no harm in trying it together with a single RSL 10e. IF you find the performance disparity untenable, THEN you could order a second 10e and resell the CS1200 to offset the extra cost.

"Pairing" speakers with subs is even more nonsensical than "pairing" speakers with amps/receivers/DACs.

Get whatever sub fits your budget and usage/needs. What speakers you use with them is totally irrelevant.

The whole concept of "pairing" this or that gear X with this or that gear Y is pure salesman's BS they trot out to sell you whatever best suits THEIR bottom line (usually whatever costs more, since their sales commission is a fixed % of the total sale, so expect rampant upselling). The audio hobby is sadly awash in salesmen's BS. So keep your BS detector on "high" at all times.

You really don't need to pair a sub to your loudspeakers.

A sub is designed to concentrate on the low(er) frequency range.

Many things to consider but it starts with what your use preference/expectations are.

Keep in mind this is a 300 watt 10" sub listed at 26hz, those are just facts.

There are always $299 group "Power buys" for these on reddit. In case you want another. Including the 10s Mk2 for $424 and the 12s for $750, both of which just took place.
My room is small about 11ft x 11ft so one is probably sufficient but could you elaborate on the group "Power buys" for these on reddit?

No preference/ blind buy I would agree especially if you can get in on a powerbuy deal.To be fair, those are two different users. Not to mention the footprint on the 12 is significant so optimal placement can be a challenge.
Agreed. I went from the 10e to the 12s and its as big as a mini fridge and about 90lbs. Very different use case for space and frequency response. The 10 is great for music and some movies tbh but the 12 can reach down into the lower frequencies and shake your lungs.

If we were talking cars, the RSL 12S is a full blown SUV while the 10S is like a hybrid crossover SUV. Two different tools for two different jobs.
