The Speedwoofer 10e comes across as a strong value ported sub for small offices, 2.1 desktop setups, and modest home theater rooms, with enough output to pair well with bookshelf speakers and even support a second sub later. It is praised for punchy, weighty bass, good music performance, and a wider, smoother response than some sealed rivals, while RSL's customer service and resale value add to the appeal. The main tradeoffs are its large footprint for a 10 inch driver, limited deep bass below about 26 hertz, and no Bluetooth. A solid fit when space and ultra low bass are not the priority.

  • The 10e can work well in a 2.1 office setup when paired with bookshelf speakers.

  • RSL customer support can be responsive, including phone access to company employees.

  • The ported design can deliver more output and a weightier bass character than sealed options.

  • The 10e can be a strong entry sub because it may be easier to sell later or use as a second sub.

  • An amp plate failure can occur after a few months, and email support may receive no response.

  • The 10e lacks Bluetooth, which can limit convenient wireless control options.

  • The 10e can be difficult to hide because it is very large for a 10-inch driver.

  • The rear-ported behavior can be less suitable for music, even when placement is not against a wall.

This might be worth skimming through...I'd start at the most recent page (176) and go backwards, rather than from Page 1 which dates back to 2011.

Here are the cold hard numbers: SVS SB1000 Pro = 13.5H x 13W x 14.76Dvs* RSL Speedwoofer 10e = 15.5H x 15W x 15.25DThe SVS is a lousy 2" shorter, 2" narrower, and 0.51" shallower. Whoopty do. 🤣
You forgot driver size. Which would be the main thing when shopping. 👌

2" shorter, 2" narrower, 2" larger driver.

Then there's sound quality, features, bass extension, etc.. but that's a different thread.

Throwing my upvote for this not just because I have this speaker and its probably the best value out there even at full price, but also because it's an American company that's been around a long time (from my home area) and their service is best in class. You can call up one of the folks at Rogersound and get an actual employee of the company in California who's happy to chat about the products and sometimes even just chat about music...its a special kind of company.
They have very good customer service. Only issues I had were when they told me in email the 10e would basically sound like a sealed sub... and then the sub itself which went back. But they did always respond.

Heck, even SVS agrees with you: 😁

Dual subs improve imaging? Poppycock LOL. Dual subs are the way to go though, way easier to make the whole room the sweet spot with bass that seems to emanate from everywhere- the hard to localize part is definitely true.

The larger driver size of the SB1000 is more than canceled out by the inherent limitations in output that its sealed design would have vs any vented design.

Bottom line is that a lousy 2" difference in H and W is irrelevant. Stop pretending that these RSL 10" subs are some big huge monsters.

Driver size is ONE of several variables in subwoofer shopping. Not the ONLY one.

Yes it is. RSL subs (like Hsu subs) have always been praised for both movie AND music sound quality. Can't say the same for SVS subs, though SVS has an exponentially more aggressive marketing campaign, sending out free "test samples" to reviewers who invariably gush about them. Such is how the game is played, and SVS are masters of the game, gotta give them that.

lol, you have to ignore SVS's usual sales/marketing hyperbole.

Main virtue of dual subs is, as you said, more even bass throughout the room. And a small increase in output.

Sure, it's only 1,100 cubic inches bigger, but that's substantial...and it's huge for only a 10" driver.

I like when the Slickdeals community helps each other out with information that might matter. Especially from people who have owned the product. Maybe you don't. Your choice to take it personally is weird, but now I see you're the one who posted this sale price.

Anyway, faster response without boominess from ports aiming at back walls is not a limitation. There's a reason SVS makes sealed and ported versions of the same models. 👍
Read up.

Correct.
I have a 20'x20' room and adding the second sub changed everything. It's no longer localized. I can't close my eyes and hear exactly where it's coming from anymore. The room is filled with bass and there is no "sweet spot".

I know enough about subs to get in trouble.

But to me there is a HUGE difference between a 10" and a 12". And it comes down to user preference. I find the bigger the SUB the sloppier the bass but I like that! I find a 10" just does not hit hard enough for me.

Read up.
Firstly, your math is off. SB1000 = 13.5x13x14.76=2590 and 10e = 15.5x15x15.25=3546 with the difference = 955 cubic inches not your "1100"
This is equivalent to the volume of a 15 x 15 x 4" cushion. Your erroneous number would've produced a 15 x 15 x 5" cushion.
C'mon, give us a break man. You are really bending over backwards to fabricate disqualifying factors for this sub, aren't you?

Secondly, a "10" sub like this unlikely to cause any "boominess" unless you are silly enough to push it flush up against a wall. It's not some gargantuan task to move a sub of ANY size a few inches this way or that way to minimize any undesirable room boundary interactions. Anybody with a shred of common sense is capable of doing that.

If I appear to be "taking this personally" it's only because this site is infested with SVS shills. (One of whom pops up like clockwork in EVERY SINGLE speaker/sub thread of non-SVS products, to also cast doubt or denigrate the product.)

any of the RSL subs, Starke sound if ya want sealed. Hsu vtf if you want good low end, Tonewinner D4000/D6000 for ported high power or maybe Sunmit Hifi dual 15" sealed or their new Pretium 18" sealed unit. Btw, I'd prob just replace it, the. Just keep an eye open for a cheap plate amp or even one just get one that fits from parts express, then you'd have 2 subs or you could sell it or use in another setup.
+1 for starke. I was shopping for subs and was looking at bang for buck subs. RSL and starke was the 2 I had on my radar , went with the starke Sw 15" do to how low it can go. You can get a new sealed sw15 sub for $599 or even less on sale. It can get down to 14hz and is recommended and welled reviewed by audioholics. I got mine for $499 you can't beat it.
