One of my very first true slick deal ymmv finds about 8 or 9 yrs ago was one of these b&d drills for $13 at my Walmart. Those were the days. Lol. Still use it (along with my ryobi, makita, Milwaukee stuff too) to this day.

Same. I have a whole set of B&D now because of that one deal. I use the batteries in my kids' power wheels.

Who keeps posting all these crap deals on Black+Decker and Porter Cable power tools?! These are terrible brushed tools pushed by Stanley Black & Deck (parent company of Dewalt, Craftsman, Stanley, Black&Decker, Porter Cable, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Irwin, Mac Tools, Proto, Lenox and more) and are literally the bottom of the barrel in terms of power tools. I wouldn't even buy this if it was $10. These tools are huge, all plastic, brushed, have terrible performance and come with a crap 1.5Ah battery...the lowest Ah battery any manufacturer makes for a full sized power tools. The chuck on the drill is plastic, is probably 3/8" and probably non-locking/ratcheting. Also, if you have never used a brushed tool, you will literally see sparks when you look in the back vents of the tool and it will smell like something is burning in you seem the tool after use. I'm not sure how it happened, but for some reason, I bought a Black + Deck 5.2 amp corded drill about 15 years ago and it was in like brand new-like new condition when it resurfaced in a basement storage bin 6 months ago. I tried it, it was the worst drill I have ever used. It had a 3/8" plastic non-ratching chuck, no speed or clutch settings, and when I let go of the trigger, the drip kept spinning for 3-4 seconds. Even though it was corded and was rated at 5.2 amps, it was the slowest and weakest drill I've ever used. I thought it must be crap because it was sitting around for so long, but I check the specs in the manual it was working just fine. They still sell the same drill for $60 new today, but I sold my for $5 on FB Marketplace because I thought charging any more would be taking advantage of someone who didn't know better. Getting back to this specific oranges pieces of crap, for $79 on Amazon, $20 less than the Black&Deckercombo, you can get a Brushless Skil 20V drill and impact driver kit with a 2.0Ah battery and charger that is superior to this steaming pile of crap in every way. For $99, you can get the Craftsman 20v RP Brushless Drill and Impact Combo with two batteries and a charger at Lowe's. For $139 on Amazon, you can get the Flex 24v brushless compact drill and impact driver combo kit that comes with a 625 in-lbs two speed drill with 1/2" full metal ratcheting chuck, a 1700 in-lbs multi-mode impact driver, two 2.5Ah 24v batteries, a 160w charger and a very nice carrying bag. The Flex combo kit is professional grade and is better than equivalent the Milwaukee M18 Brushless Compact Drill and Impact, and the Dewalt 20v Atomic Brushless Drill and Impact kits, and for less money. I know, because I own that exact Flex 24v combo set and as well as four other drills and four other impact drivers and have used many others beyond the ones I currently own. The Flex also comes with a 5 year warranty on the tools and 3 year warranty on the batteries and charger if you register it in the first 30 days afterpurchase. This is definitely the best bang for the buck even though it is more expensive. If you can't afford the the $139 for the Flex, go for the Craftsman or Skil set. To be clear Black & Decker was once a well respected brand and is the company that invented the first pistol grip electric drip in history, making it one of the most important power tool companies ever. Going back 20-25 years, Black&Decker was still a solid DIY focused power tool brand. This orange plastic crap Stanley Black + Decker pushes today is a tragedy. Stanley Black + Deck destroyed a possibility even more important brand in the history of power tools, Porter Cable. Porter Cable was the company that invented the first portable belt sander, sidewinder circular saw (Skil technical invented the first circular with its worm drive saw, but Porter Cable invented the sidewinder circular saw that is ubiquitous today), the first portable bandsaw and the first random orbital palm sander. Until Porter Cable was acquired in 2004 by Stanley Black + Decker, it was considered by many to be the premiere woodworking power tool manufacturers in the world. The brand is now officially dead. Tractor Supply was the only remaining retailer of Porter Cable power tools, which were these crap Black&Decker tools rebranded as Porter Cable and in Porter Cable red, white and gray colors. On June 1, Tractor Supply announced a deal to sell Skil 20v power tools and drop Porter Cable. Tractor supply is clearing out all their remaining Porter Cable power tools at deeply discounted price...and no, you shouldn't buy those tools either. RIP Porter Cable and Black & Decker...you deserved better. In case you want to give me a thumbs down, instead, responsed and tell me why I'm wrong.

Good Set for homeowner however since it only comes with one battery it's a deal killer in my book if you want to expand on their 20v lineup. I once had a multi tool B&D set and many of their yard tools ie blower, grass trimmer, chainsaw, etc. The main thing that turned me off about B&D was their lack of battery options. Most of my tools I purchased on sale with battery included because one battery back then was $50-$60 and it was a better deal included with the tool on sale. The other thing regarding batteries is the insane price of a B&D 4.0 battery currently on Amazon for $99! Insane! Eventually I exchanged all my yard tools to Ryobi and now own Dewalt and Milwaukee and Ryobi for cordless tools.
