although i love MSI for their motherboard and GPU especially their warranty.... their gaming laptop. hard pass, too many random glitch and hiccup and they have worse build quality than HP and that says a lot

I'm impressed that these refurbs are going for so much. I think gaming is printing money π
I agree that these at a quick glance don't seem like great deals, especially for being "refurbished". But that's the state of the market these days I guess.

The thing about MSI laptops is that the lower you go on their product tree, the more corners they cut in build quality. Their highest and laptops are pretty solid, but you will pay dearly for it.

I bought the 18" Titan with the 5090 several months back and am loving it. It doesn't last long on battery (has no optimus/igpu) and is missing gsync but the screen quality is great, keyboard is impeccable, and the performance is stellar. It's also built like a tank with pretty nice build quality throughout. The glass touchpad is nice most of the time, a little glitchy at times with clicking but mostly good in my experience. Audio is pretty meh, 6-6.5/10. The thermal performance is a little lackluster compared to the other 5090 laptops.
Of the 5090 laptops I think the legion pro 16 is the best of the bunch (and you get OLED instead of miniLED), but I wanted the 18 inch screen and am too in love with the cherry mx mechanical keyboard.
Check to see if the warranty is in place and has full coverage. We got a new MSI gaming laptop 5 years ago. Screen started acting up but warranty process was pretty good. We sent it back, they fixed it and returned. No issues since.

Zero issues with it. I would classify this as a mid-tier with 16gb DDR4, 10th gen Intel and a 2070 8gb.
2tb worth of drives.
Zero dead pixels, no weird stuff. It just works every day. It is my primary PC.
