I don't see a lot of purpose between charging one device at 140w, two devices, at a combined speed, I would guess if you had to power on a 100w laptop, and then be able to use the same cable to charge your phone, smartwatch, or other lower wattage devices at the same time. I would rather have 2 cables running from power brick to the laptop and phone separately, and you could use a couple of cable ties to combine them if you wanted them to be combined.

Be aware these do not voltage modulate. Meaning they go with lowest common denominator.

If you have two devices that support 28V, great.

But if one device supports 5V only, the other will throttle to 5V too.

The main use is if you have a portable charger (hey Anker makes those!) and you want to charge an additional device.

For traveling, with a power bank, you could charge a phone and laptop and use the 2nd port to charge the power bank.

For road trips, you can charge a phone and a peltier phone cooler by 1 wire. (Splitter didn't work well)

I believe this scenario implies that the power bank has enough PD to charge a laptop meanwhile the charging unit doesn't have enough power to charge the laptop?

I forget, but if the charging is like an ev, the wattage slows down as the battery percentage goes toward 100%. So rather than waiting, you can get the power bank charging while charging a phone+laptop

This cable is great for if you're trying to charge something and both devices support bi-directional charging. Like, charging a power bank from a power station. Or a laptop and power bank. It acts as a one way cable so you always know which direction it will charge, instead of the devices trying to figure out who is charging.

I have one of these, I thought it would be good to have on my desk to plug my laptop and phone into, but the 1 foot portion is too short for it to really be useful for that. Now I keep it by my ps5 and use it to charge my controllers and headset when it using them. Works well for that
