Love my PC 20V tools! This is a great price but I was taken aback by the three star rating. If anyone has any real-world experience with this, please let me know your opinion. Good price though!!!

I don't have any experience, but the 3 star rating on the TC website looks pretty bogus. There are only 6 reviews. One of the negative reviews is about the stock at some random store location. Another is complaining because they didn't understand what the tool is for.

If I was interested in this, I'd probably checkout the reviews for the Craftsman version. They're both made by the same company, and have similar appearance. Doesn't mean they're the same, but I'd bet a lot of the user experience is.

Porter Cable is dead. Don't buy this crap. Tractor Supply was the only retailer I'm of aware that still their 20V power tools, but Tractor Supply is dumping their inventory of this crap (most of the newer Porter Cable 20V tools are junk rebranded Black&Decker junk) and will be carrying Skil 20V tools instead. RIP Porter Cable... Stanley Black&Decker did you wrong...you deserved better.

Why did I recieve two thumbs down? Actually do something useful and response to why my comments are not consistent with your opinions.

People are just sensitive these days. Everyone is easily offended. I agree mostly with what you stated about these tools. Go with a different brand if you're not already in the P-C ecosystem. That being said, some people are already in the P-C ecosystem so may find these deals attractive. Perhaps they are downvoting you.

You most likely got down voted because of how you came across about the brand. If you just mentioned that porter cable is dead and they are cleaning out stock and that your experience with porter cable has been bad, I think you would have been more helpful. Informative parts of your post got buried in your brand thrashing. I have no personal experience with this brand and I don't care that it's going down, but I don't mind buying some tools for light duty work. Fwiw, I found parts of it informative.

I don't think the brand lock-in is as relevant as it used to be. Yes, PC is being phased out at Tractor Supply. (Ace Hardware still appears to carry some of them) But thanks to Amazon and 3D printing, battery adapters are widely available. So you could buy some clearance tools in one brand and adapt them to the batteries for something that you choose to switch to in the future. Also, these are almost the same battery as Black& Decker tools today, and it's easy to get these batteries to fit into a b&d tool with very little modification.

Porter cable has been, and continues to be, one of the best-selling and well-regarded pneumatically-powered brands of tools in the US.

The largest tool manufacturers in the world are Robert Bosch GmbH, Techtronic Industries (TTI), and Stanley Black & Decker.

If you live in the US and buy almost any electrically-powered hand tool of a brand that you can easily recognize, it is almost certainly a label-engineered version of something else.

JUST AN FYI, the set I managed to find had batteries that WONT CHARGE this is because the batteries and charger are from 2021.
Its stamped on the package, batteries and charger.
Went back to the store and alllll the products they had are from 2021.
THE GOOD NEWS is that they are under warranty and if you already bought the set or any of Porter Cable closeouts then you just need to contact the company and get the local service centers phone number to put in a claim as I have through Email.
They will ask you to write SCRAP and a date on them and take pictures of the battery(s) from all sides along with the receipt.
Waiting for the shipping information on the replacements.
Good Luck!
