Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II are best known for class leading noise cancelling and very strong comfort, especially for flights, gym use, and long listening sessions. Sound quality is described as rich and detailed, and the fit can be improved with third party ear wings if they feel loose. The main drawbacks are short battery life, shaky Android app and pairing behavior, and weak call performance in noisy places. There is also a serious ownership risk if one earbud is lost, since replacement buds are not easily paired.

  • These earbuds work well for flights and travel use cases.

  • Comfort can stay strong during long wear, with no ear pain reported.

  • Noise cancelling can match or exceed AirPods Max for flights and announcements.

  • Noise cancelling can perform well during gym workouts.

  • Battery life can be disappointing, with roughly four to five hours reported.

  • Losing or dropping one earbud can effectively ruin the set due to left-right factory locking.

  • Android pairing and software features can be problematic, including issues after removing one bud.

  • Connectivity can break down when using multi-device quick switch functionality.

Best earbuds Ive ever owned and I tried many brands before these. Money was no object in my search. These are the most comfortable, no ear pain after hours of wearing them. The noise canceling is superb, best there is. Music is amazing and it makes my podcasts and audiobooks sound rich and alive. Only negative is the battery life does suck compared to other brands I own. I get about 4-5 hours out of them. I wear earbuds all day long, usually 8 hours, so I need them to be ultra comfortable and last all day. What I do is pop them back in the case for 30 minutes and switch to my Bose Headphones for a bit. I prefer earbuds, but their headphones are equally amazing. After 30 minutes in their case, the earbuds are ready to get me through the rest of the day.

I have not experienced any connection issues as some have. Had mine for a year, but I got an extra year of warranty through Amazon. I'm using Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with them 99% of the time and it connects without issue.

I got these a couple years ago from that Verizon pricing mistake of $99 and they have been fantastic. They would feel a little loose in my ear, but I found a seller on ebay who makes wings for these and the medium size makes them snug in there. I do a lot of walking with them around the city.

Do not buy these! Big warning to anyone looking at this deal.

Yeah, the sound quality and ANC are incredible, but there's a massive catch that 99% of people don't know until it happens to them. If you drop or lose just ONE earbud, you are completely screwed.
Unlike AirPods where you can just buy a replacement piece, Bose factory-locks the left and right buds together.

You CANNOT buy a single replacement bud from Bose.

You CANNOT buy a cheap replacement bud off eBay (the software permanently blocks them from pairing).

If you lose one, your good charging case and your other perfectly fine earbud become garbage. Your only option is to pay Bose a hefty ransom price to "trade in" your broken set for a brand new one.
This was a really costly mistake on my part. Look somewhere else for earbuds. Do not buy into an ecosystem that forces you to buy a whole new $200+ set just because you lost a 1-inch piece of plastic.

I strongly advise against purchasing these products. I had them for nearly 15 months before they suddenly stopped working with my devices. I tried various troubleshooting steps, including resetting and updating the device, but none of these solutions were effective. When I reached out to their customer support, they were unable to assist me and instead offered me a 20% discount coupon to purchase a new pair of headphones. As a result, I've decided to discontinue buying Bose products. I've since switched to Sony headphones and have been quite satisfied with my purchase.I am not the only one who had this issue. Multiple people posted the same on reddit
Sounds like more of a suggestion to invest in an extended warranty than a reason to completely not use the brand. Not to mention they come with a 1-year warranty. The fact that they offered you a coupon post warranty is actually pretty decent.

The noise cancelling is good, but the battery life on these are meh, and their software sucks at least on Android. Would constantly have pairing issues if I took one ear bud out, it was resolved by uninstalling the app but then you can't use some of the features.
Bose's Android app is complete ass, you are right on that. It's a huge weakness if you're buying any Bose device. But for these headphones, in my opinion, the app isn't necessary at all. They sound great, and the ANC works great.

these since this is gen 2 and xm5 is an older generation from sony. if you had mentioned xm6 then it would level the playing field. AI had mentioned the flagships from Bose and Sony differ in weight and seal in ear. take these facts into consideration
these appear to be gen 1
