Tempting, but I much prefer the solution being separate from the water.

My old unit, which the heating element is weak (only draws a few more watts when i turn it on) and body has lots of cracks.... it has a solution and fresh water tank and allows me to adjust solution from none to some to lots. Also has a push/pull mechanism whereby it dispenses water+solution pushing forward, water only on the pull back. I'd repair it, but it's just worn out after 10? years of monthly use and lots of abuse (kids)

I guess with this model it'll be water+solution, then rinse/refill with clean water and redo all the carpets to get solution out.

But then again, I'm pretty sure I paid 2x over 10yrs ago! Smilie

Good deal if you're ok with a single tank solution.

Absolutely as long as you get a good unit. No rental fees, can use your item anytime without having to transport, also just having to transport period can be a PITA as those rental units are generally much larger and bulkier and heavier. You can actually purchase those Rug Doctor rental units online brand new, they are usually around $500 or so.

Just purchased the Hoover Power Scrub that was on Prime Day sale and it has a separate compartment for the solution from the water. It also has a knob that you can select wash or rinse to dispense either water + solution or just water only which is a nice feature. And it doesn't have the traditional horizontal rotating brush, but instead have 4 separate brushes that spin similar to to the corner brushes on a robot vac.
