Unless space is a consideration, I have no idea why someone wouldn't spend the extra $100 for the 36" Omnivore with hood and softcover at Costco right now. The only downside is the hernia you will get picking up the box.

Depending if you have the space or need extra space to cook. I have a large yard so I would go for the Walmart or Costco deal

Is it cheaper in store? Costco is showing 449 for me for that.

I have been trying to buy a used one. It seems you have to take care of it by seasoning it regularly or it will rust. There are many guides on what you need to get the rust out and re-seasoning. Just a little harder than a regular grill.

After every use, just scrape clean and wipe down. Then put down a thin layer of oil to prevent rust.

The TSC deal last weekend for the special edition patriotic edition was this same griddle, with a cover, and special edition spatulas for the same price. Since this includes the tool set I'd say this is equivalent. You get 2 spatulas and instead of the cover a scraper, tongs, and two squirt bottles.
Edited because I initially missed the tool set.

Bizarre. So regular price is $500, in sale for $450 (online), in store was $350 last week and now up to $400 this week. Makes perfect sense lol.

Bigger isn't always better. I have the 36". It's a large surface area. More to clean. More to treat/oil after every use. I cook for 5 people and it's still too big. Wasting fuel etc as well
