The tool without battery is only 199. I don't think a 2ah battery is worth 80 more

Tool only is the better deal. I got mine from Fasteners (199 - memorial day discount = 185 or so). Honestly worth the 199 and probably more if you need the functionality and it's not a discount time.
Much easier to handle than the pole saw, far longer than the pole hedge trimmer, and you probably don't want to be cutting larger branches from that far.

I didn't know these existed till now. I have been using a cordless pole saw for years which is what I think of when I see pole pruner.

They have had these for years in other brands for years.
Now that team yellow has one out here, the rest should follow soon.
I'll have to wait because I refuse to get into another battery platform.

How is the weight on this unit.
Think an 80yo woman could handle this for 20 to 30 minutes at a time?
I haven't gotten my mom the pole saw attachment because of the weight.

Different tools with only slight overlap. This quickly and cleanly prunes small branches, pole saw cuts much thicker but senseless on smaller stuff. A bit like using a circular saw to cut popsicle sticks.

No, def not that long. I let my MIL (mid 70's) use it while trimming at their house and she was happy to give it back to me after 3 cuts.

The pole saw is more versatile and easier to use as you just lay the pole saw in top of branch.
The difference is the clean cut that the proper makes. The pole saw has a tendency to dance on small branches with the vibration and get leaves and twigs stuck in the bark.
With this in mind if you only get one, get the pole saw. It can do it all. If you need a more surgical tool to handle precise pruning on small branches on fruit trees, get this.

Look around for an in store clearance. I picked this up today for $125. Last one in store and $199 in surrounding stores. In store clearance always a big YMMV but I randomly came across as I was looking online off of this post.
