I can't tolerate the lack of gull wing doors. It's just lazy designing on the part of Lego.

The previous version had gull wing doors. The problem is at this scale, you can make it look nice or be functional but not both. Not only does the new one look significantly better, but it also allows fits 2 minifigs.

shake head This is literally the best small scale DeLorean LEGO has made yet. If you want the flip up wings, then spend $160 and buy the big version.
