The Classic set is impact bonded and not tri-ply. I think the main issue w/ bonded is that it's easier to warp and probably doesn't transfer heat as well up the sides.

I always forget there's a big difference between bonded and tri-ply until someone points it out.

No, I didn't look, but anyone interested should. If you're serious about cookware, I'd watch out. Unless this set is labeled as 304 [actually 18/8 at a minimum or better 18/10] stainless, and I doubt it is, it's a hard pass.

It's "cheap" for a reason...

18/10 brushed SS interior in the photo.

However, I would not buy this set.
  1. Missing a smaller sauce pan and lid.
  2. The smaller 8" skillet fry pan is unnecessary. Give me the sauce pan/lid, which you can never have enough of honestly.
  3. I use my SS pan very infrequently. Only for acidic dishes. I use my SS sauce pans constantly, and I use carbon steel pans for the browning, nonstick, and ease of cleaning (heat up and put under a stream of water for steam effect and brush with a chainmail brush). This is how it's done in Chinese restaurants as woks are carbon steel and they don't soak or toss them into a dishwasher. At $20-$25 each for the carbon steel pans (when on sale at Amazon), they complete my set and are ultra-convenient. I have the Merten & Storck set (8", 10", 12") . They're lighter weight and cook up beautiful steaks and chops and eggs (scrambled or fried).

I mentioned that I didn't look (which you acknowledged), but the "brushed SS interior" is kind of a red flag too. You don't eat off it, but what's the exterior? 201 shiny junk?

I use stainless steel pans almost daily, so I'd pay a little more and get a higher quality set, or better yet choose individual pans.

There's so much fraud and fakery today. Anyone really can do much better if they just try and IMO you don't have to be a pro chef to benefit from decent cookware.
