Community Reviews
Tokina's atx-i 11 to 16 millimeter f 2.8 is a sharp ultra wide zoom for Nikon F mount APS C bodies, and the $149 price stands out as especially strong for a new lens from a legit dealer. It is described as solidly built, made in Japan, and useful for indoor group shots, landscapes, and astrophotography. The main catch is compatibility, since it is designed for DX sensors and needs a Nikon body with an internal focus motor for screw drive autofocus. On full frame it falls back to crop mode and loses the wider coverage, so it fits best when that format is what you need.
Common Questions (4)
Yes, $149 is described as a very strong price for a new lens from a legit dealer. Several comments compare it favorably with prior resale or purchase prices around $289-$299, and say it is worth it for F-mount users.
It is a DX-format F-mount lens, so on Nikon APS-C/DX bodies it behaves like about a 16.5-24mm equivalent. On Nikon full-frame FX bodies it will force DX crop mode and vignette outside that crop area.
Yes, this ATX-I version uses screw-drive autofocus, so it needs a Nikon body with an internal focus motor for autofocus to work. It is not the same as the ATX-II version with its own internal motor.
It can be used on Nikon Z bodies with the FTZ adapter, but it remains a DX lens and may crop automatically on some full-frame Z models. That makes it usable for wide-angle work, though not as a full-frame 11-16mm lens.

A few errors here: "DX" is not the mount. That's the sensor. This is F-mount and will be the equivalent of a 16-24mm on a _DX_ body. It will be 11-16mm on _FX_. It can be used on Z-mount systems with an FTZ adapter. Bokeh on DX sensors will be limited to an f/4 equivalent, iircEDIT: Looks like I'm the one with it wrong. Aside from the correction that "DX" is the sensor and "F" is the mount, it does appear that this is a lens made for DX sensors. It will still for 16-24mm due to DX crop, but would NOT be 11-16 on full-frame. Been away from the DX game for too long. Sorry to anyone I mislead

Be a 16mm - 25mm lens. Not ideal but for this price might be worth it for some.
