I got this last year for 1k. It's an amazing panel, glossy, 240hz is really smooth. You need a beast of a GPU to drive 4k though. Wish it were ultra wide but I guess you don't have to deal with tweaking games that don't support ultra wide.

Is it worth spending 400+ more for the gen 3 with blackshield? Curious how much of a noticeable difference there is in terms of performance for someone new to OLEDs and how much durability it provides

I think there will be lots of discounts on 32"+ 4K OLEDs coming via "market correction" because of the Alienware AW3926QW (a 39-inch 5K2K glossy OLED) that is supposed to be released in the fall at very competitive prices. Black Friday may be insane when it comes to gaming monitors. lol

Yeah I think you're spot on with the OLED gaming monitor deals. I would have already jumped on a 5k2k panel but curve on the Samsung panel is way too aggressive for my taste.

With dls and fg is fine to drive anygame in 4k even with a 5070ti at 100+ fps. I have the dell 4k 240hz oled 32". Wont be upgrading until thoses 5k widescreen get around this price. Widescreen gaming experience is just better.

Idk if it's perceived performance but I'm finding it hard to drop below 165hz after getting used to games running at 240hz. DLSS has really become fantastic, especially for antialiasing. Framegen certainly helps but you really need a solid base frame rate and 3x and 4x framegen doesn't work very well yet IMO. 2x runs fine if your already at 80-120fps. I'm really hoping the next couple of generations of framegen can just dynamically cap your monitor's refresh rate. If it gets as good as dlss has, maybe developers will stop putting motion blur in their game engines all together.
