Largely considered a poor lens, this "Nifty Fifty" is past its prime, by a long shot. Old, noisy and slow focusing motor makes the experience a poor one. Sadly, there are no cheap high-quality primes for FE, at least not in 50mm.. the good versions of this focal length, like Sony's own 50mm f/2.5 G, are 3+ times the price of this poor performer Frown If you thought you'd get what we were used to getting on DSLRs w/ mirrorless, at least from Sony, think again — there are very few, if any, good primes that do not cost an arm and a leg.
That said, optically it should be okay, as long as you're not shooting a lot of movement where focus needs to track and adapt fast. Still, it's likely much smarter to save your money toward better glass.
