InKind One is a restaurant payment credit that works best when there are participating spots you actually want nearby. The strongest upside is the discount, with some finding it cheaper than buying through InKind directly or even cheaper than Uber gift cards, and a few noting useful extras like app offers and cash back on the uncovered portion. The main drawback is coverage, since local favorites can disappear, some places do not honor it, and app ordering can carry higher prices or markups. Tips still come from a card, so it fits best when the restaurant list around you is solid.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. The list can change frequently, with restaurants being added, removed, or reappearing later. One useful detail is that the list may also expand when you reach the payment screen, so it is worth checking there before deciding.
Yes. The card is only useful if you have restaurants you actually want to visit on the inKind list, and several comments note that local spots can disappear or never be available in some areas. It can be a strong discount when nearby options exist, but it may be impractical if the closest participating restaurant is far away.
No for the tip, and not always for stacking. Tip must be paid from your own card, and several comments say gift card balance cannot be combined with coupons or promos to cover the same bill, which can force extra out-of-pocket spend.
Not always. Some restaurants show the same prices as in person, while others add a markup similar to DoorDash or Uber Eats, so it is worth checking the restaurant's current menu before ordering through the app.
You usually dine normally, then pay the bill in the app by entering the receipt number and showing the server if needed. A few locations support ordering or paying through the app, but most use it as a checkout/payment method rather than for placing the food order.

But, if you just go, you get a discount applied as future credit moving forward. Some places / days are better than others.
Unless I knew I was going somewhere, I wouldn't just keep credit going.... If they go out of business, that float is lost.
I think I remember a couple of restaurants that allow you to order online and pay with the inKind app, but it was very few nationwide. I don't know exactly how that works because there were none in my area, so I didn't dig into how it works.
The concept was good, but the reality of making a profit in the time of inflation has come home to roost. I simply want to use up the $25 or whatever cashback balance i have in my account and be done with it. Not worth it anymore.
I don't like their selection of restaurants either. and the $10 or so cashback i earn occasionally, cannot be used unless I go to an expensive place to eat, so it goes expired so many times. I was about to buy this time, but something is stopping me too. Still have $60 balance on my account.

However, if you order takeout through their app, the prices can be higher...I found that out the hard way when I ordered some sandwiches from Uncle Paulies Deli in Studio City...went to pick up, looked at the prices on the wall, and I had paid 10-15% more...plus didn't get the store reward points.
Other restaurants have identical prices on InKind and Store, so it pays to do your homework before ordering!
