CMF Buds 2 come across as a strong budget pick for calls, podcasts, music, and travel, with ANC that punches above its price and a compact case that is easy to carry. The six microphones and app support stand out, including EQ, spatial audio, and customizable tap controls, and the fit is helped by multiple ear tip sizes and an oval-shaped design. The main drawbacks are the awkward double tap for play and pause, plus reports of battery and charging failures after a few weeks. A practical low cost pair if you want solid sound and noise reduction without much worry about loss.

Common Questions (7)

  • At around $23, they are considered a strong value with good sound, ANC, and a useful app. Soundcore models like the P30i or Liberty 4 can be better for music or overall performance, but the CMF pair is still a solid cheaper option.

  • Call quality is a strong point: the 6-mic setup can make voices come through clearly, and the earbuds are reported to work well for virtual meetings and work calls. Background reduction is decent, though not class-leading.

  • The ANC is notably strong for this price range and can cut down airplane noise and general outside noise well. It will not fully block louder, sharper sounds like a crying baby.

  • Yes, the controls can be changed in the app, including assigning different actions per ear. Single-tap play/pause is not supported; play/pause uses double tap and skip uses triple tap.

  • The earbuds come with 4 ear-tip sizes and an oval-shaped body that can fit many ears better than round buds. They may still be too large for very small ears, and the tip stem/structure can cause discomfort or an insecure fit for treadmill use.

  • Battery life is generally reported as good, but real-world use can vary. One work-use report puts it at about 5 hours per charge.

  • Some units have had charging or battery problems after a short time, including one earbud not charging or the buds not holding a charge after about two weeks. That makes checking return policy and testing them early important.

Got these on a recent deal and have been pleased with them for virtual meetings. Good battery life, I'm heard clearly, and audio comes through well for me.

"Prime only" price -- but the not-Prime price is also discounted, only $1 more (for black, anyway).

There are 4 different ear hole sizes to choose from.
One of the cool perks about these earbuds is that its more of an oval shaped fit for actual ears since they're not actually circular, but more oval-y shaped.
These are hybrids so its a mix of earbud passive noise cancellation in addition to the active noise cancelling so the earbud sizes should fit most, if not all ear sizes.

P40i and up I find were better, sound/calls/anc. P31/P30 and below were even or worse in some areas. Software better on soundcore and ANC(because of updates).
Calls on CMF are superior. Probably because of the 6 mics. Background reduction is okay but about like P30i soundcores. P40s and above were stronger.
Fit matters a lot of cheaper buds for ANC reductions.

I returned the CMF($35 at the time) and I keep the P30i I had($25). Just more comfortable(everyone ear's different).

Though I can't recommend these when Samsung Buds Pro3(white) still selling Best Buy refurbished for around $55-65. Other than case design, there is not buds better for the price that even come close(maybe sony's if you lucky to get extreme sale or deal). I love my Buds Pro3 and will be upgrading to Pro4 when they are discounted under $75 down the road.

Normally I keep my buds for testing but nothing really impressed me about the CMF brand. If soundcore/anker wasn't around then I think they would be top dogs. So great alternative that I think mostly going to come down to ear fit between P30i. They both floating around the same price now of $25 for new. So if you don't have access to Anker or they didn't fit well I would go with these at this price.

Buds Pro3 are my main right now with P30i as my spares if lost.

Have a pair of these and love them. Nicer ANC than anything in this price range has any right to be and people keep commenting on how well they can hear me during calls!

I bought these last time they were on sale and love them. They aren't anything special, but they're great for podcasts and music. I use them a lot for walking the dogs.

Bought these a couple of days ago for $24 and some change. After having more than 30 pairs of earbuds throughout the years, this is a no brainer.

I'm into how music sounds, not ANC or any of that stuff but dang these just closed off the outside after trying them for the first time. You can turn it off in the app.

The app offers EQ settings, spatial noise, etc. These are earbuds I just listened to my main tracks just to experience the sound.

For $23, i'd be on it like a fat boy on a donut!

Anyone with practical experience with these in the the gym? Would you recommend buying?
I'd like to keep these in the car and use only for working out in the gym.
