Hisense used to make a Roku TV with local dimming but don't know if they still do. Pretty sure this one in the op does not feature local dimming.
Even on the bottom end, TV's with local dimming are a little brighter and have better contrast than those without.
Hisense/Walmart does have this Google TV in the same price range with local dimming. Probably at least as good as the Amazon. Being it's a mini-led, maybe a little better. Cheaper/longer extended warranty also(optional).
